240k is enough for 4 years of college and other expenses.

All I'm saying is that it sortof surprised me that they're only giving away one scholarship. As something that's touted as some "great chance" for these students, that just seems cheap to me. If those kids want to do it...good for them.

Hey, they're in a business to make money, they are not in a business of giving money away for no reason.

That's true, but I don't know. It would seem like the right thing to give at least some money to the participants.

The applicants get $50K each, the top prize is $240K

OHHHHH! I didn't care to read about it, so good job ABC

where was it filmed?

It was filmed on the USC campus, according to the site.

I'm gonna watch it--it looks kinda interesting, so why not.

I'm just happy that finally there is a reality show that is promoting higher education and not how some celebrity is living or what extremes people will go through to win cash.

I am soooo watching this tonight! :D

It's one of the most boring show. 10 minutes and that was enough!

Very disappointing show: the questions were too easy; I think it was definitely just a show for every average American because if the questions were too hard, most Americans would tune out. I couldn't really tell if some of the drama was real or not, something tells me that some of the emotions was to put on a show for the camera. As for Jeremy's "I deserve the blame;" that statement does not make you strong. It really does show you as an unsure leader and that you're weak. I hate to use a Trump reference, but the Donald even agrees that if you put blame on yourself where it shouldn't be, that is one of the most stupid things you can do (the guy ended up being "fired"). Jeremy was just scared of being hated. Anywho, I hate to say it, but Jeremy's situation is very normal for Vietnamese people about the parents immigrating (I have the same situation). Even though it is a strong story, a lot of his story was just hoopla, because trust me, I've also used the lines "I'm living out my parents dreams" a couple of times.

That is so insulting. Jeremy took the role of being a fearless leader--he blamed no one but himself for that loss. How was what he said "weak"? That took an incredible amount of modesty and courage. A coward blames others for his loss--a leader takes responsibility. I see Jeremy as someone who has a great amount of respect for his family, but someone who is determined to filfull his OWN dreams. And as someone coming from a Vietnamese immigrant family, I'd think I know.

very boring show. no point in arguing about the show. i've got to say that this is probably one of the worst reality shows ever.

you guys should keep watching. The challenges get so much better. Also I dont know if they figured out the system of ensuring that the person who won the first showdown (melissa) doesnt slack off the rest of the show, since she is guaranteed to advance, so that could get interesting.

Oh please, that little "blame myself" scheme has been played out so much. Don't you think that maybe he was just scared of singling out a person, therefore making him weak? Jeremy is a great scholar, I take nothing away from him, but all he's doing he showing his passiveness right now. In the end he looks like a true competitor; I guess he knew what the people wanted to hear...

All and all, the show was still designed so that any Joe-schmoe can answer the questions at home. This is why I don't think it catches on to people on cc.

he's at Myplace.com too, Jeremy seems like a nice guy and from his posts you can see that he is often sad

hahah it's so funny to see you guys talking about Jeremy...how you guys see it and how different it's when I'm one of his close friends. Ah, he's a good guy, the show is a little overrated, but yeah.

I didn't see it. What were some of the questions?
