Is AP European History helpful?

I’m debating taking this class? What are some reasons to take it? I know a lot of people do, and most struggle, so I was wondering what draws them to AP Euro. Does it look good on college apps, more so than other APs? Is it good preparation for another class? Thanks.

AP Euro is a really fun class for me. It’s a little challenging but it is really fun. We have a lot of tests/quizzes though. Probably 75% of our classes have tests/quizzes. I have no intent of studying anything to do with history in college, but I still find the material very interesting. If you are looking for an interesting but challenging class you should go ahead and take it. This is my first AP and I’m not struggling too much. I was debating taking it as well and I’m so glad I made the chose to take it. If you do take it I recommend purchasing the REA crash course book because it really helps on our chapter tests. There’s also a lot of writing (mainly timed) which can be stressful (this is probably the only part of the class I don’t enjoy).

I assume that any AP class looks good on college transcripts - and AP Euro is a very fun one!

It also makes you seem very smart at … dinner parties… not that I’ve been to one yet because i"m only a teen.

Taking AP Euro made me a whole lot less confused about everything - it’s great to know the fundamentals of western history, and now ik what “prussia” is or what happened with Yugoslavia. I also know where the countries are, as well as major themes of strife. the class isn’t really about dates or names i think, but themes, patterns, and issues. We learn about ideas and arts throughout the ages.
It’s a really good class I recommend taking it.
