is it better to be straight to the point the on SAT essay?

i use to try to put some turning point in the first paragraph of my essay.for example: '' Success sometimes may seem to bring us achievement ,however,if we do not use the power of success properly, success may become disastrous ....bla bla bla......

is it better to go straight to the point, like '' Success always becomes disastrous to us if we do not use it properly.....blablabla.....''??????

Yes, it is better to be straight to the point. You only have 25 minutes to develop an essay and you can’t spend time describing the background of your argument. In fact, when I took a princetoon review prep course, one of the essay graders told me I spent too much time talking about background info and stuff and not enough analyzing/ connecting to thesis.

YES!!! 10 chars
