Is this a likely letter?

Last Friday I had a phone interview with the transfer admission officer at Whitman College. Today I got a letter in the mail that goes something like this (I only wrote the important-sounding stuff):

Dear Pretzelbreaker,
It was a pleasure to speak with you on the telephone about your interest in Whitman College. I enjoyed learning about your academic background and your varied activities. Based upon our conversation, I feel that Whitman could be an excellent place for you. ... Your academic record is impressive and demonstrates great promise for success at Whitman. I look forward to discussing Whitman with you further.

Is this a generic follow-up for most interviews? I've never had an interview for a school before, so I don't know how these things go. Any input would be much appreciated; don't want to get my hopes up.

Thanks y'all.

it sounds like a nice thank you/hope for the best card

I don't know specifically re interviews for transfer, but I don't think admissions interviewers usually send thank-you notes to interviewees (I don't think alumni interviewers usually do either, but I'm specifically referring to admissions staff now).

It sounds like a "likely" to me. Just the tone, the actual words and the fact that s/he even sent it.

When do you actually here?

Thanks for the input. They don't actually mail decisions until April 15th. I'm glad I mailed her a thank you note for the interview yesterday since I got this nice letter today! If anybody else has similar stories I'd love to hear about them.
