<p>Just want to know how true these rumors are! My son really wants to go there for the prestige and academia but is also concerned about all the rumors, i.e. boring, best friend is your lamp shade, no social life etc...</p>
<p>Although I'm not a current student, I've been reading about this topic for a while now. I think the general consensus is that UCSD is not a super social school where there'll be party animals roaming the safari, but that if you are really that super social type, you'll still be able to find others like you.</p>
