It's a tricky situation you know...

I'm applying ED to NYU and so is this other girl from my school. And she's head girl. Academically, there's a difference in GPA of 2 points between the two of us. Her SAT's are better than mine though.
I know my EC's are stronger than hers and I have a lot of leadership positions.
When I first found out she was applying ED too,I was really upset but now I've realized that there is a lower chance of me getting into CAS if I apply RD since I'm an international applicant. So, since I'm almost done with my essays, I've decide to apply ED.
Does anyone else know 2 applicants applying ED and both of them gaining acceptance?
Will it hurt my chances of acceptance since another (possibly better) candidate is also applying ED to CAS from my school?

hi. i think you will do fine, plus NYU wants students that have good ECs so they know that they will be able to survive New York City. Best of luck with your application and the admissions process!

i say apply where you want and don't worry about other people. NYU is pretty big and can accept more than one person per school. They certainly accepted many people from mine, and I know of certain schools (in the NY area.. lots apply from there) that send ten or more people to NYU each year.

Though my kid did not apply ED, she and a guy from her high school both got into NYU/Tisch and are now freshmen. Both are actors: she is in CAP21 and he is in another studio. If they want both of you, they will accept both of you.

in my hs, like 30/200 students applied to NYU, and about 13 were accepted I think. There were at least 5 accepted ED.

However, since you're an international student, it makes it more complicated since they might not want 2 from the same high school...but if you're both really qualified they might take you both.

i dont think they take the school in consideration. there were some stony transfers with me as well.

I think they do take the school into consideration, because they don't want 30 kids from the same high school going to their college, they want a lot of diversity. but 2 kids is nothing, so don't worry about it.
