For where I’m going freshman take their first year tests and you register for classes depending on when you complete them. Then they give you a card and its one day and three about 200 or so kids who go on that day and register for classes from may to august

Yupp, scheduled on the first:)

In April :D

It might help your daughter if she can get a course book with the Fall 2010 classes, dates and times. It might be online. She could work out some different possibilities with days and times to see how her schedule might look.

Ultimately, my D had to go into her adviser with her schedule made out and the adviser merely put them into the computer to see if they were available. D lucked out and got what she wanted when she wanted it.

I went to the first orientation session that was offered at my school and got to register in early June, a few days after graduation. But one of my friends is going to the first session this weekend.

I registered in June for my fall classes. Most of the freshmen register in late June all the way through mid august. I am sure you D didn’t miss anything. I know some schools have orientation for freshman spread out. Make sure she has everything done too. I know some schools you have to take placement tests and make a date for orientation in order to even begin scheduling if you are a freshman…

Yep, registered yesterday. Possible physics major with pre-med.
Linear Algebra I
Writing
Physics I with Lab
General Chemistry with Lab
Intro Psychology

Still thinking about changing psych for philosophy or econ. Not sure yet though.

I registered for my freshman classes in May. It was a whole day where they give you a tour and give you a lot of info about the school and at the end of the day we got with our advisers and knocked out the schedule.

Now I register for classes as soon as I’m eligible. At my school the more credits you have the earlier you can start picking classes.

In my school, the freshman register for classes the Friday before classes start, and everyone else registers the day before. So there’s no need to worry.

So just curious, at the schools with early registration, do you need to pay your term bill in full before you are allowed to register?

^ not at Purdue or JWU… its so that upperclassmen get the better time slots. Athletes and a few other people get to schedule before seniors though.

Im going to a Canadian school but I register in late July

The honors program I’m in gets to register before everyone else at the school. No need to worry about classes filling up, ever :D

I pre-registered in early May and this past week, during orientation, my schedule was finalized.

I registered in Mid June and at my school incoming freshmen register from early June to mid August at orientation.

At my school, freshman sign up for classes at summer orientation but I don’t think they find out if they actually got the classes they wanted until later in the summer.

For everyone else, registration is a couple months before the end of the semester. Rising senior/junior athletes go first, then rising seniors, then rising juniors, then rising sophomore athletes, and then rising sophomores. And the rising freshman are last, obviously.

I wish I could register, my school offers registering from June - July, then one day registering in August. I will be registering in August, last day, after everyone else had their picks.

I live in Texas, and recently transferred to NYU. I couldn’t afford to go to the orientation over the summer, so I have to wait until September 3rd. I’m really worried that I’m not going to get any of the classes I want. It’s the very last day to register. :(

nope, not yet, since i’ll be attending a university that requires us to go through orientation before being able to register for classes, and my orientation’s just around the corner, thankfully i can’t wait! i understand how D is excited :D

I registered for classes in June, have been messing with my schedule ever since thinking about what placements I should take.
My uni is like airakun’s - you have to do orientation before you can register. The latest orientation (internaitona students) is in September, since my school starts very, very late Sept. Mine was the 2nd orientation in June.
It’s basically first come first serve for us.
