IUB Bremen anyone?

i am really sorry for one big typo there..

IUB is a highly international university with as of today 8 countries represented by the 75% of its international population which is hugeee compared to any US univ u will hear of...

this is not 8 but 86.. IUB as of today has students from 86 countries ..
for scholarship you need to have an overall impressive application with a gudness factor in totality ..

SM

thanks SM. that makes things clear to me.

Wow..that was such an enlightening post....thanks SM...I now think I made the right decision to apply to IUB and that also round 1.....

I was wondering about the 8 thing... that makes a lot more sense...

are you sure the averages are THAT HIGH?! i got a letter from thee office which said that 2005 (not 2006) average was 1300 ( 600 + 600 ). I am sure about that .. if the average is 1450, its going to be a reach for me :(:(:(:(

sorry i meant 700 + 600

yeah..i think the same..with 1450 'average' score..it can be ranked along with the ivies...if not higher...if its the truth..then I am already having hiccups...:eek:1450 !!!!! that means I haven't even got the average IUB score to say the least...god help me....

My letter said the middle 50% of SAT scores was V 550-670 M 650 -760
So you just need somewhere in that range..
if you got the catalog this was on the back of the pretty picture of Bremen..
And they still accepted students with lower scores...

Well, the thing is, before me, nobody I known ever heard about someone being rejected by IUB. And annually about 7-10 students from my school apply there (and I must tell you, not only the brightest of ones).

Well why is it that no one from Nepal has heard of someone getting rejected from IUB???...Do they love Nepalese people a lot or what?...

and btw...again I am asking...does anyone know about the number of ppl who are applying from Nepal to IUB for round 1 this year??...

2 guys were rejected from our school last year out of abt 6 ppl.

What school.. as I said I don't even know one other person applying from the states...

^^St. Xavier's college (HS) in poor country Nepal

well ice_sickle007. it seems for you ppl that many Nepalese apply to big schools( CC users) but the fact is that most of the applicants from this poor country of ours do not go to so good schools. So students from only few schools here go to the biggies. what Porkey is refering to is one of them.

Hiya everyone..!
Well i havent replied to this thread, but one of my major concerns was,
how good is it for after-graduation. Ok many people get into ivies, but what if you want to pursue an engineering career?
What are the job prospects,etc...where to most of the IUB graduates go after grad...?
N e one have info on that?

I think it is just that most kids state side want to stay in the states.. but I want to leave..

for a change..at last we have somebody who actually wants to go out of States and that too for studies....

Does anyone know if we have higher chances of getting into IUB in round 1 than in subsequent rounds??..does it work like that of ED and RD in US colleges??

Check out these stats, from a physics contest for undergraduates held in the US - the BAUPC
http://liquids.deas.harvard.edu/oleg/competition/04/
scroll it all the way down..you'll see that Bremen scored 4th, competing with schools like MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Berkeley, and many others

So I guess it's pretty good
