Hey guys! Just a quick update, but I got into one of my top school choices! Prior to adding some Ivies to my list, this school was my first choice! I am SO excited!

I do plan to wait a couple weeks to see what happens with a couple other schools before I accept. UM has been my first choice, but I think I stand a good chance at a couple other schools, so I am just going to see what happens.

@dreambbig Thanks! I already have an established relationship with UM since I completed a UROP fellowship there and have been invited back for panels and such, so I feel really good about it. So, I already feel like I am right where I need to be, but I will wait to decide until I hear from the Ivies.
On that note, I have a question for you guys. UM is a really good school. I have updated JKC on other changes, but should I update them on being accepted?

New update, I have emailed the person who interviewed me regarding the date when they will notify us, and said last time she heard was either the third or the fourth week of April. Good luck to all of you.
The results have started coming out, everyone!!! One of the people in the Facebook group was surprised by her college today and also told that there are 61 transfer scholars this year. I am so excited!
When was she notified today? And wow! 61 out of 500? That seems like a lot!!

She was notified today, I can’t say who it is because that is up to her to share if she wishes. You are welcome to join the Facebook group to see. They typically notify colleges first and then colleges notify their winners and eventually after a week or ten days they send out emails to all semifinalists with results and then a press release.
What facebook group?? Well, since my college did not surprise me with anything then the result it is obvious now. Well we gave it our best shot??.
Hey everyone. Since we know for sure now that we will be getting our decisions soon, I have made a small survey for everyone in the group to take once they find out their decision
Obviously this is completely optional, but I plan on sharing this with future applicants to give some clarity on the process. I can share the results once we all know our decisions. Sending my love to everyone, best of luck!
@Dreambbig Don’t count yourself out just yet. Wait for results. My college didn’t even know I was a semifinalist until I told one of my professors and HE told the administration/Honors program. The notification email went to spam and was deleted. So I didn’t get ANY acknowledgement from my school.

@Dreambbig Not everyone’s college does it at the same time, some don’t notify their scholars at all, and then the scholars find out through an email the JKCF sends out a week to ten days after the first surprise notifications start emerging. This is definitely the time to get excited, we have all been waiting a long time for this decision!
