"Dear Students,
Thank you for your application to the Summer Student Program at The Jackson Laboratory. Per our application guidelines, admissions decisions were to have been made by ‘late March’. At this date, a small number of admissions decisions are still pending. In consideration of this slight delay, the purpose of this email is to inform you that your application is still under consideration for a position at the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine in Farmington, CT.
We hope to complete our admissions process within the next several days. All students will receive an email notice as to the status of their application.
Obviously, we are sending this notice in group-email fashion. If you have specific questions about your application, feel free to email me directly.

To you and @psywar my stats are not actually that great compared to some of the other students.
I have a 3.9 UW GPA, (my school is in the midst of getting a W GPA, but I have A+s in AP classes as reference). Regardless, I don’t think that was a deciding factor. I’m only a high school junior, but I’ve been able to do research each year so I think that helped. My essay, at the time, I thought was amazing :stuckouttonguewinkingeye: , but after reading someone’s comment, it might’ve come off as cliched. Still, I tried to show that I am passionate about research.
I wish the best of luck to everyone! And if you didn’t get accepted, you’re all still wonderful people, don’t give up on your dreams of research!!!
I forgot I even applied to this program until today because one of my teachers didn’t send in my second rec letter at all. Anyways, I got the email that decisions are still pending. I shouldn’t have even been in consideration in the first place because my app was never finished, so I’m waiting for the rejection letter. I think it might have something to do with my last name starting with Z so maybe they haven’t gotten to my app and haven’t realized it’s not complete.
