January 2010 - Math Level 2

No idea. I stopped checked the date after I realized they take weeks regardless… hah

ha whats up mabs i remember you from dec ACT threads… ok so the halving problem was if a, b, c, e, and f are distinct positive integers (i think) then what operation would alone half the value of the original expression a + (b/c) / (e/f)

and for the trig problem i believe that two were true, the one with 2sin being greater than sin and 2cos being less than cos… i think it was false that tan is always greater than sin in the given domain… and for the ln problem the domain was 0 to pi

what did yall get for the graph question where the zero was at 2 and it asked where the zero would be for f(x+2)

@silence

I said at 0

No the trig questions were like

Sin(2X)>Sin(x)----False
Cos(2x)>Cost(x)----False
Then one involving tangent that was correct

Yeah, using the power rule to find the derivative is probably the fastest way.
I just used -b/2a to be safe

I thought the test was reasonably easy. There were few questions where you had to think a little longer but other than that it was ok.
By the way, Barron’s practice test made this one look really easy.

hi guys,

i was just wondering if anyone got #49
i think it went something like “every nth term that is even equals 2 and every term that is odd is that term (n) divded by 7. what term is the same as the 5th term.”

=/ someone please explain

oh i see,

did you get down to choice 19 since it wasnt even? was it the only odd choice…?

for the trig question
sin 2x>etc
etc
etc (sry can’t remember)
I’m pretty sure the domain was between 0 to pi/2
what did u guys all get for this question?

rar I think I got that one wrong.
I think it was the tangent one?

if the second answer choice was cos2X>cosx than I got it wrong because I chose that one and mixed up my graphs.

I think I remember putting II and III but Im really unsure of my answer.

sooo one omit and about 4 wrong, is that still good enough for an 800?

I think the general consensus is that this test was harder than previous ones… so maybe the curve will be more lenient?

lol. lets hope.

1 omit & 4 wrong is the bare minimum for an 800 on average I believe.

wait ya wat was the answer to number 49 (the one that gave you a pattern and asked wat was equal to the 5th term). I dont really remember it.

it was 19

the question was like
the number is 2 if it’s even
or the number is the remainder of the number divided by 7 if its odd
and what is the same as the number 5

why was it 19…I now remember the question (not what I put for it tho).

I thought the question was asking for what is the same number as the fifth TERM not the number 5.

hmm I remember it being 5

because 5/7 has a remainder of .7142857 and so does 19/7

thats what I thought anyways…

Same remainder as the fifth term has. The answer is 19.
(The remainder = 5).

Edit.
