Jeez why doesnt Bob Jones University have a forum here!

If what you say is true, couldn't it be argued that BJU is defying the intent of scholarly pursuits by advocating only one worldview and denying the open exchange of ideas that reside at the heart of academia?

Before someone chimes in with the old "every other school has a liberal agenda" argument, that will not suffice. Many liberal and conservative ideas were at the heart of my university education and many others at different schools I know. I believe that intended slander is propaganda created by those threatened by the independent thought that is fostered through academia.

RE: from what i have read, Jarn is correct.

From ACTUAL students that I know from the churches that I visit, I know for a fact that this is a stereotype.

Let's put it this way --- BJU is UPFRONT in telling everyone about their school, its values and what students expect when you enroll. It isn't keeping its fundamentalist beliefs a secret.

Therefore, students should already KNOW what to expect from this school and if you have any more questions, they WILL answer them ( and they aren't shy about what they expect from their students as well ). You don't enroll at BJU if you aren't a good fit and they tell you so. No one is forced to enroll there if they don't want to ( but for some reason --- their enrollment numbers never drop, which shows that there is a DEMAND for such a school ).

Hence, there is no false advertisement. That's a lot better compared to a lot of colleges that say they're neutral and fair about all ideas and then IN PRACTICE, aren't.

And from ACTUAL people who have VISITED BJU, I know that you are wrong. The policy may no longer be in effect, like their ban on interracial dating, but they did have that policy within the last five years.

HAHAHHA. death by cafe.

RE:

And from ACTUAL people who have VISITED BJU, I know that you are wrong.

Well, it is the word of recent graduates of BJU ( those who actually attended vs. those who merely visited ). I also have visited BJU and have SPOKEN to the people there. I know for a fact that they can leave campus unescorted. They have a curfew for their dorms, but the issue is whether or not students can leave the campus unescorted. THEY CAN.

Between your source and my sources and what I've seen, I'll believe my sources thank you.

Therefore, let's talk about what is happening NOW and forget about what happened in the past. That policy is NO LONGER IN EFFECT and Bob Jones Sr. is long gone.
