I've been trying for 2 months to think on what to write but i just cant come up with anything can you guys tell me some ideas or those who applied tell me what you wrote about PLEASE!

ahah oops sorry we cant tell u, cause that wont be fair, the people who applied and the people who got in did it on their own, well at least i did mine on my own, and im not that generous as to helping you with something that you will be evaluated on in admissions. sorry good luck.

how long is the essay supposed to be?

as long as u want it i guess

It kinda defeats the purpose if we tell, doesn't it?

its not like iam going to steal ur essay or something, i just want to see what other people wrote to maybe help me come up with new ideas or something or maybe get rid of some of my ideas

Don't make up something totally unrealistic. Be sincere and use your own voice, but don't make your essay bland and ordinary. Also, I think it's better to provide reasons as to why you do the things you do.

another thing iam worried about what if what i really would do with $10 isnt much of an adventure? What if i wont go somewhere? what if i want to use to do something for someone? is that really an adventure?

ahah gosh CHILL!!
okay, heres my logic: its not WHAT you write, its not the adventure, its HOW you write it, how YOU see it as an adventure. for example, to me, drawing a still life or drawing a picture period is teh GREATEST adventure EVER!! ahah because thats not my thing, and to get me to do something liek that is the same thing as telling someone else to go to africa for 5 months. but if im a good and creative writer, i can turn "drawing a dumb picture" into something so fantastic that it WILL be an adventure. bottom line: they wanna see how you present yourself as you, not what kind of crazy adventures you can think of, they can always watch some sci fi or 007 movie for that. so chill dude chill ^_^

um, as long as you write about something that doesn't take a $1.7 million grant to fund... i think it'll be okay. the $10 is really not the central thing.

wat i've been wanting to write about is taking my good friend who has never left CA or actually has never gone more than 50 miles away from home to the place i grew up at(another country) the actual adventure wont take place until we are there and i will take him to my favorite place as a child where he could see the sky clearly away from the city lights of LA and the money will be spent on food i guess and anything we may want to buy

any feedback?

well thats kinda like that one essay this girl wrote about going to new yrok and she took pics of it. i have several problems with that:
1) so youre going to spend hundreds of dollars on plane tickets and everythign else and then WITHIN those hudnreds of dollars ur goign to spend, u pick out ONE thing that is worth $10s and say thats ur adventure? ahah no, then ur adventure is buyin the food, not the whole thing (which obvously is more than $10)
2) did the essay say spend for a day? so ur going to do all this in a day?
3) are u that generous and will u do something like that? ahah okay fine, when i did my essay, the point of my essay is that im using 10$ to do something id never do but the other part of me i wanna explore (and other craps), but i mean ... thats a lil TOO generous, sounds kinda fake.
4) still the money issue :(

how about taking him to a planetarium close to home or another place close to home where he and i ( cause i would really love to see the night sky from a place other than LA) could just enjoy the night seeing something we dont actually see everyday or that we do but not fully

Be honest. That's the most important part. The best writing is truth, not contrived, not what you think the adcom would want to hear. If that is TRULY what you would do, then go for it.

I spent the money on cheese.....I love cheese, then wrote a really funny story.

i love cheese as well but maybe not so much as to write an entire essay or adventure on it, great idea though

well.......my essay was probably more bs than it can get cause id NEVER wear a duct tape dress to prom .......but umm i got in, so yea screw truth, say wat u think will get u in HAHAH being honest gets u no where in life!

Write something funny about what you really love....There must be SOMETHING... even the most mundane thing can be made into an interesting essay. I know people who wrote about worms, and visiting the dentist.

Only not in the same essay...

I finally came up with something I can write about! Glorious day!!!! Very big step for me considering I've been thinking about this for a very, very long time (since summer?) and, finally, right before it's due, I come up with something that will work!
