I am a 17 y/o working at Starbucks this summer. How would this be viewed in the college admissions? Would this be considered an extracurricular?
It’s viewed as a summer job. You should be proud that you did this over the summer. You are probably learning many great skills.

If lower income, colleges realize that work may be needed and that an applicant may not have the luxury of doing all these, at times, expensive EC’s.
Yup! Great EC… You have joined a structured activity…and this will help you in the long run…you have started to learn how to work in a business…getting to work on time, negotiating about shifts, how to deal with customers, etc.etc.
