Johns Hopkins Supplement

This year’s prompt(and last year’s) is: Johns Hopkins University was founded in 1876 on a spirit of exploration and discovery. As a result, students can pursue a multi-dimensional undergraduate experience both in and outside of the classroom. Given the opportunities at Hopkins, please discuss your current interests—academic or extracurricular pursuits, personal passions, summer experiences, etc.—and how you will build upon them here.

When I was reading through the essay’s that worked page (https://apply.jhu.edu/apply/essays-that-worked/), I noticed that several of the essays spoke about experiences or significant hobbies, without even a sentence mentioning Johns Hopkins. I’ve already written a few essays, which describe hobbies, learning experiences, etc. Could I use one of these essays for the Johns Hopkin’s supplement, even if they don’t explicitly mention the university at all?

It’s likely the case that they’re using “strong” Common App essays as well as supplement essays. Stick with answering the prompt.

Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

Interesting question. I have never think about it. Thank guys for it. Now I [do my math homework](http://domymathhomework.org/) but after it I back to this question.
