June 10th ACT - Score/Curve Predictions Thread

Do colleges look at individual section percentiles in your opinion? If so, does 90% look good?

My predictions:

30-35 English
31-36 Math (If I don't get at least a 30 I'll ask for a re-score)
30-34 Reading
28-36 Science (Depends on a lot of things)
30-35 Composite

I'm crossing my fingers for a 31 or a 32 at least, and hoping for a 33 or 34.

Honestly, I don't know for sure. I'm only in high school, but I think they do and any score in the 90s is excellent.

1st time:
REading: 33
English: 33
Math: 31
Science: 31
COMPOSITE: 32

2nd Time:
REading: 36
English:35
MAth: 31
Science: 30
COMPOSITE: 33

HOPEFULLY THIS TIME:
REading: 35
English: 35
Math: 32
Science: 32
Composite: 34

Very impressive.

Not really.

How's a 34 not impressive (we're talking in the real world by acceptable standards)?

Sophie C, how did you feel about the reading, like how many do you think you got wrong?

Last time i got a 35 in reading and i missed only one. But if the curve is easier then even missing like 3 will get me a 34 which is what i think i got

any way,

math - 33-35
english 33-34
science - (I can never predict this one) 33
reading - hopefully 34 but a 33 is good

The curve predictions:

math was alright so I think if you get max 5-6 wrong you will still get a 30
reading i think the curve will be like 6-7 worng for 30
science was easier so i would say the curve is hard like 3-4 wrong and you get a 30 (hopefully no this harsh!)

btw, 34 is AMAZIN, if i got that then i would be ecstatic!

English: 31-33
Math: 31-32
Reading: 27-30
Science: 28-30
Composite: 29-31

34 is in the 99%tile. It is good by any standard.

i know!! so hopefully ill manage it... if not oh well... thats what i like about the ACT... u can take it as many times as you want, so if i bomb it this time... ill just use my 33 score!

What did you guys think about the science on this one? Easier than the Apri 8th science section, or about the same?

i thought science was easier than ocotober and january

I want 34 or higher as a composite -_-, but I don't think I made it.

i thought science was much easier on this one.... i actually finished with time to spare....

reading was harder on this one.... but i did better due to practicing prior to the test and learning how to pace and work at a quick pace....

math and english were easier

i believe that the june test is in fact the easiest test, at least for this year

I'm kinda mad.... I retook a 34 to get a 35/36, but now I'm kind of feeling dumb that I did it. I made so many simple errors!

Before:
English: 35
Math: 36
Critical Reading: 36
Science: 30
Composite: 34

Now my predicted scores:
English: 32-33 (3-4 errors for sure)
Math: 35-36 (I think 0 wrong, but I bet I made a mistake somewhere)
Critical Reading: 35-36 (same scenario as math)
Science: 31-32 (two wrong for sure, probably 3-4 wrong total)
Composite: 33-34.

Wow, I did the dumbest thing ever in retaking a 34. It would look so stupid to get a 33 after.

Also, how bad do you think the Science curve will be?

Will it be generous, like

36, 40
35,39-38
34, 37
33, 36
31, 35

or brutal, like:

36, 40
34, 39
32, 38
31, 37
29, 36

Any ideas? Any help with the english curve, as well?

For Science, the conversion would typically be within this range:
Correct answers/Scale score
40/36
39/34-36
38/33-35
37/32-34
36/30-32

Anything outside of that would be unusual. pk, your "generous" conversion is realistic, but I don't think your "brutal" one is.

34-36 English
33-36 Math
30-33 Reading (Crosses fingers)
28-34 Science (Crossing fingers too)

34-36 English
36 Math
33-36 Reading
33-36 Science
