June 10th ACT - Score/Curve Predictions Thread

pending i dont make any mistakes other than those i saw on here....

33-36 English
33-35 Math
33-36 Reading
32-35 Science

Composite: 33-35

i really hope to get a 34+...

let me pray.. lol

Here's a wild guess at my scores:

English-36
Math-34
Reading- 32 low end, 35 high end
Science- 35

Hopefully I did at least a 34 on reading. That would bump my composite up a point to a 35.

After teaking the SAT Saturday, then getting almost no sleep all week long at Boys State, then taking the ACT early that Saturday morning with absolutely no preparation, my scores are probably much worse than I have predicted.

I did phenomenally better on this ACT compared to the April 8th ACT.
Predictions (worst case to best 'sensible' case):

English: 34-36 (knew every answer, but giving some leighway in case of dumb mistakes)
Math: 32-35 (know I got at least 1 wrong, knew everything else. gave some leighway for dumb mistakes)
Reading: 29-35 (hard to say with reading...)
Science: 30-35 (really only 3 questions I wasn't sure on, did 50/50 guesses, but giving some leighway)
Composite: 31-35

Previous April scores:
English: 35
Math: 27
Reading: 29
Science: 23
Composite: 29

Essay Predictions: If the scoring made any sense, it should be a 8/9 at the minimum. I was able to write 2 pages this time, so that's better. I wanted to do more but i'm just not a fast writer. Chances are i'll probably end up with a much lower score than it should be again due to length. I just hope it's better than the previous one.
April Essay score: 5 (4% percentile). Wrote 1 1/3rd pages, not a bad essay at all, but got shafted (presumably for the essay length).

Hmm I'm guessing 28-30 everywhere but math, where I'll say 32

I really screwed up this time:

Math: 24
English:26
Science: 28
Reading:30

Composite: 27

So now that many people know their scores, what do you think the curve was?

-1 on Math = 35
-1 on English = 35
-2 on Reading = 34
-2 on Science = 33

I'm guessing on Science, but I think I'm right about the other 3.

about right, except usally 2 wrong on english is a 35.

Since this is the first time I took the ACT, was the Science curve for the June test harsh or lenient?

Oh, really? Makes sense, though. My subscores were 18 and 17 and in April I got a 35 with subscores of 18 and 18.

I'd say pretty lenient. I thought I did about the same on this science as I did in April (30 then) and got a 33 which is higher than I've gotten on any practice tests (32 was the highest on a practice test).

Comparing the April 8th test complaints to the June test complaints, i'd say the Science was definitely lenient. Whether or not the curve actually reflects that, though, is another question. ACT has an odd way of coming up with the curve of theirs. By all reasoning, with science being the most difficult test to score high on, one would think that the Science would have the most lenient curve at the high end.

...Though, that topic has been beaten to death already in other threads.

math-36
english-36
science-35
reading-36

omg science im so worried i did so bad ahhh

^If a 35 on science is bad, I must be stupid. I don’t know my score yet, but I definitely doubt I got a 35 on science.

I already know my CR is going to be low… I didn’t do good on it at all. My science and math will definitely be the highest.

Haha mdterps yeah right. You even said this in one of your previous posts:

"would like 8-10 wrong on the math and reading sections result in 27,28? "

Why would you predict a 36 in both of those sections for yourself?

I heard a -13 on math is a 27 and a -15 is a 27 on english? That’s how it’s scaled on my REAL ACT PREP.

yea i know i was just joking that how some people act though with there science-they said they did so bad then they say they probally got 1 wrong.

Look at the date on the first post of this thread people.

When are the scores being posted?

@middkidd100: The scores are already up. Go check.
