June 2010: World History

do we have have a final consolidated list?

also, I’m certain that I did really poorly on this test-- but there’s no point in cancelling, is there? because I can just not send the score right (let’s say i have 2 other ones to send)?

thanks!

i narrowed it down to incas/aztecs and i chose aztecs… because i was under the impression that the inca empire was skinny, although it did span a good deal of territory in the north-south direction.

do you guys remember the map of australia and a bunch of arrows?
was it the settlement of polynesians and micronesians and such?

^Absolutely.

Boy oh boy, this test was hard. I was getting Barrons’ 800s. Now I’m not so sure.

hm thanks!
do you guys remember any other questions?

hmm…thsoe guys here pretty much got most of the controverial ones covered I think…

I remember the last question on the test and I doubt we’ve touched on it. It was about which popular issue was the least successful after protests or something like that…not sure.

check back a few pages. we’ve got that covered :)

can anyone combine all the answers we have figured it out?

Wow! I just logged into CC and am pleasantly suprised to so much discussion about the subject test. I think I did okay. I know I wasn’t for sure on many but my goal was to clear 700. I have no idea though. Does anyone know how many you can miss to get 700+? Well I’m going to stop fretting over it… the results will come soon enough.

Ooooh, one more thing!
When you guys signed up to take the subject test, on the part where it says you can submit your scores to up to 4 schools for free by June 14th, did any of you select schools? How did you come up with which schools to pick?

Oh you guys what was the answer to that question about Ashoka creating a divine religion or something? I was between because India lacked a single unifying religion and the one that said different religious groups were unwilling to adopt parts of other religions. In the end I went with the unifying religion.

Oh and the united nations charter question?

What was the one about Carthage/Rome?

And the Magna Carta?

And the panama canal?

Those are the only ones I can remember for now…

I put gained territory or something, independence from Columbia, and limited kings power

^It wasn’t about Ashoka and creating divine religion, it was Akbar from the Mughal Empire.

@Tinks800

I think I put the same asnwers, except for the panama one I put something about french troops. -scratches head-

my memory is so iffy ._.

The AP World exam was super easy and I was expecting the same case here, but…nooo.

What about the Q w/ Europe and dependent countries in 2000?

did lower shipping and telecommunications costs lead to corporations sending factories overseas?

A few additional random questions

Where were the janissaries recruited from? Christians

Who used quipu? Incas

What did the Indian Nat’l Congress do? Try to gain indep. from Britain

What was the religion of the Zhou? (I wasn’t sure about this one, because I didn’t think that the Zhou had a dominant religion, even, but it might be ancestor worship?)

What did the Northern Native Americans not have? (Or something like that…answers were trade, iron tools, etc.)

Why did Gandhi use the spinning wheel? Not sure of wording

I think the answer for the French/Bolshevik one was “both failed to achieve their orignial goals and were soon replaced by reactionary gov’ts.”
