So guys, I’ve been taking CR practice tests (CB official) for like the last few days and I’ve read just about every strategy from every book and I keep missing 5 or 6. Is there any fix to this last-minute? It’s mainly the passage-based reading I am missing, I have not missed any vocabulary.

^zingzong, I’ve been studying CR like crazy and this is the method that works for me, although it really only works for long passages (I just read the short passages all the way through and then just answer). I usually get 0-2 wrong now after getting a 690 on my last test.

Read the italicized heading QUICKLY to get background info.

Go to the first question that has a line reference and read it.

Skim the passage until you reach the line reference (try reading with a pencil, it makes you read faster). Read the sentence and any important surrounding sentences (usually one before and one after) SLOWLY so you can understand their meaning completely.

Answer the question. Make sure you know the differences in the subtle phrasing of the question (Suggest and Indicate mean that the answer is directly in the passage, so those are easier, this is usually where I was tricked before). In general, make sure any answers are backed up by the passage (They have to for them to be “correct” answers).

Lather, rinse, repeat. Save any questions without a line reference until after you answer all the other questions.

This is the first test that I actually have time to devote for it (way too much homework right before the last testing date I had), so I’ve been seriously getting ready. Pretty much wore out the blue book.

Old Scores: 2180 (720 M, 690 CR, 770 W)
Current Practice Test Averages (out of 4 tests): 2360 (800 M, 790 CR, 770 W). I’m READY!

BTW, does anybody know if there are any score differences between the blue book and the real SAT? I know it’s the official book, but the questions seem suspiciously easy.

ugh… this sucks! haha
i used to never miss vocab, and miss a ton in the passage based.

Lately i havnt missed any passage based, missing a bunch on the vocab ;

I’m so nervous!!!
I got a 2030 last time and I really want a 2200+ this time. But on practice tests I’m coming up 50 points short ):
Like my March was: 800M, 620CR, 610W
and my practice tests are: 760M, 680CR, 720W
I don’t mind the 40 point drop in Math because I can still superscore my old one, but still. KLDFJKGLSJDFLG

What calculator are you guys going to use?

My regular TI-84, but I need to go get batteries… I don’t want to be calculator-less on the SAT (I use the calculator for literally every single one of the questions)

I’m really hoping to break 2100. I’ve gone from a 178 PSAT, to a 192 PSAT. Lets hope that my work has pad off and I can pull of a 200 point increase in my SAT!

My goals!

800 M
800 W
730 CR -> seriously if I can accomplish this I will be sooo happy. CR has given me so much stress over the past few months :(

I haven’t studied for even a minute. Whatever. Hoping to push my math from a 760 to an 800 and my reading from a 640 to a 680. We’ll see.

I just took a practice Math test today (the May 2008 SAT), and got an 800. I somehow got a 730 on math on the May SAT, although I’m yet to figure out which ones I got wrong lol. Apparently I’m having some issues applying it on the actual test.

I don’t even care if I don’t get an 800 on Math… I just want to AT LEAST break 750. Hopefully it’ll work out this time.

You probably just got unlucky (or lucky on your practice)
A 730 is like what, -4? So maybe you didn’t check one or two and didn’t know how to do one or two. It happens to all of us. I got an 800 my first time and I wouldn’t be surprised if it went down (it’s inevitable anyways)

i didn’t review at all since i last took it in march. my goal is just each section in the 700s (last time was 640 cr 680 math 730 wr). i think last time i just wasn’t very confident and wasn’t really into taking it, i’ll be in the zone tomorrow.

Yea I haven’t done anything since March…hoping for better results.

Good luck on SAT tomorrow y’all!

I’m tired. Time for bed.

Big leaps in math are definitely possible. I went from 720 to 800.

Good luck to everyone!

Had just finished the test! Terrible 19 days of waiting!

Done.
Headache. Red eyes.
June 6 SAT is easier than BB. Hope that score will be higher.

when are the results releasing?

on 25th of June

Just finished! When do we get to discuss?
