Juniors: post your PSAT to SAT scores

D
soph PSAT 192
junior PSAT 232 (72/80/80)
12/05 SAT 2320 (770/770/780)

207/2020

The PSAT I took totally cold not even knowing the format and I studied a lot for the SAT but I sucked at the essay (a 6!) which REALLY disappointed me because I'm doing fine in AP English...but vague impromptu essays royally suck. I'll be retaking, although I got a 1400 with just math/verbal (700's both) so that part wasn't too bad, but still too low for me.

My son's PSAT (Junior year) was 215 and SAT (April 1) was a 2290 (800 verbal, 800 writing, 690 math). He's unsure about whether to retake the SAT in October. He would like to get the math up, but worries that if he goes down in the other two cetegories, that are perfect, even though on paper the colleges claim that they will take the highest individual scores. Help!

217/2170
im completely fine with that. fomr what i've heard and seen, very few peeps even get over 2000. I feel like that's the NEW big threshold that ppl want to cross. Besides, that SAT score was like 98th percentile of graduating seniors, and i took it as a sophomore.

213 to 2350

Sophomore PSAT: 178
Junior PSAT: 215
Oct. '05 SAT: 2050

Note that I took the SAT a week before the PSAT. (Weird, I know.) So my score did not go down. It actually went up

I'm retaking the SAT in June and hoping for a 2150.

Posting son's stats:

Soph PSAT: 212
Junior PSAT: 218
Junior (Apr) SAT: 2310

Difference was checking over the PSAT and seeing the dumb mistakes he was making on the reading section, then doing some practice CR work.

156 to 2120

Soph PSAT: 229 - approx 2-3 hrs studying
Junior PSAT: 238 - approx 5-10 hrs studying (over a week)
Junior SAT (May): 2370 - approx 5-10 hrs studying a few weeks before, 2 hrs the night before; didn't bring a graphing calculator

On my junior PSAT I got 2 writing questions wrong, so I went home and studied writing. I've always been very good at math (throughout middle/high school) though I guess I'm slipping more now because I missed two (one level 2 and one level 4, ayy) on the SAT in May. I didn't bring a good calculator which I think hurt me, since I missed both on the free-response section.
