lots of walking.... hotter than usual.... but it was good... i suppose.

anyway
i signed up for
chem 1a
ME24 (seminar)
engineering 10

& i still need
math 1a
theater, dance and performance studies 52ac

is it likely ill still be able to get those classes by phase 2?

im in engineering. & someone else i met said their calso counselor said that since we were the last engineering group to go to calso, engineering classes could wait until phase II

haha i just got back too..
i signed up for
chemc96
Math 1a
and waitlisted for chem 4a... = =
Yea. You are the last engineering group to go, i'm pretty suree. However, there is another engineering group..going.. FPF on july 16th.. so... you are not actually the last engineering group..
whoo are you?? i dont know if i saw you this weekend.. lol.
im not sure about math 1a...that could be difficult.. who knows.. there are still quite a few more calso's going.. so.. yea..hopefully things will work out for you.

oh yea.. good point. oh dang.
but yea i hope ill be okay too.
hahaha oh you went too! umm well what college are you in? im in engineering... as you might have noticed haha... but yea... do you have a facebook? you can send a message if you want

you can get into math 1a if you don't care which prof you get. if you're picky about the prof, you should def. do math 1a now b/c a lot of people take it.

hmm yea it shuldn't matter so much. i hope ill be okay considering ive been thru linear alg & i want to start over to have a better ease into berkeley.

gokitty4 - Better easy at Berkeley? If you've already got the Math credit, then don't bother taking the classes again (I think "better ease at Berkeley" isn't a good enough excuse). There's no reason to have take 1B if you already have credit.

Unless, for some reason, your credits aren't transferable?

oh. sorry, i failed to mention i only got a 3 on the BC exam... & they recommend to skip 1b only if you got a 5. plus, i don't wanna be thrown into math 53 with that kind of score

isnt 1b & 53 kind of linked?

also, im a mechanical engineer, so i want to feel very comfortable with calculus

I'd recommend skipping 1B and going straight to 53 (you could brush up a little on your Calculus over the summer, if you're really that worried). 53 is really about a lot of new material and isn't that 1B dependent (if at all). I'm also in the College of Engineering (EECS; plan to go EE) and can understand a concern for understanding Calculus. But trust me, if you've got the credits to skip 1B, skip it!

with a 5 on the AB exam you can only skip 1a
you must past the BC exam with a 3 or 5 to skip 1b
but they recommend taking 1a if you got a 3
& if you got a 5, going straight to 53

is 53 & 1b really not related at all? how can i find out for sure? i havent signed up for my math class yet so i'll think about it.

They recommend taking 1A if you get a 3 on the BC exam? What the hell? I'd figure they'd recommend taking 1B and hesitantly suggest moving onto 53?

53 & 1B are related in that they are both calculus. However, the topics are in 53 aren't really dependent on the knowledge you gain in 1B. If you really feel insecure about the BC material, then take 1B. I took 1B last Fall (Reshetikhin) and 53 last Spring (Steel), so I have an idea for how dependent 53 is on 1B. I guess you could look at some 1B professors' websites for syllabuses or something.
