Just got a large envelope out of the mail -

ponymom - I can’t speak specifically to the options available on this weekend, but I can tell you that the music ensembles at W&M are mostly made up of non-music majors who just enjoy playing. That said, they are pretty high quality groups, and do have a competitive audition process (the main groups, like symphony orchestra, jazz ensmebles, and wind symphony)

I also don’t know about flute specifically, but I know there are at least some students enrolled in private lessons (extra fee, though very reasonable, btw) who are not in any ensembles.

She can also join the pep band which is really fun and has minimal time commitments, and no auditions (and is a great way to meet people).

ponymom, during our Day for Admitted Students we will have a fine arts session (where faculty from the fine arts will be presenting on how students can engage with their departments), there will be an activities fair where many fine arts student organizations will be on hand and most of our individual departments will be available for a two hour period. Day for Admitted Students immediately preceds Monroe weekend so come to both!

Monroe Weekend is focused more on the Monroe program whereas Day for Admitted Students is focused on your opportunities at W&M overall.

so is the RD date confirmed at 4/1?

not at all…

We will release decisions via email next week. The exact date isn’t yet determined as concluding our Committee process isn’t something we can measure in hours and minutes but we will release decisions next week and when we do we’ll be sure to let our CC followers know.

please please please don’t make it Friday, I know it’s easier for you guys because you don’t have to answers the phones on the weekends, but I cannot wait that long!!!

we’ll release decisions as soon as they are ready to be released. We know everyone is anxious to receive decisions but if they’re not ready until Friday then that’s when we will release them but we are working hard to finish Committee and release decisions as soon as we can.

do you only get a mywm id if you’ve already been accepted?

I believe that’s the case, kam.

Correct. Those who get admitted will get a W&M user ID and password in their formal admission letter sent by mail which they will then need to activate in order to utilize myWM

Hello W&M Admissions: do you send acceptance emails only to accepted international admissions or to all including those rejected or on waitlists?

every applicant will receive an email notification. Emails differ a bit depending on the decision and whether the applicant currently lives abroad but everyone receives an email notification.

I had read somewhere that today at 5:00 the decisions will be sent via email. Was this correct?

^Where did you hear this? I really need some good news today after being rejected from Georgetown.

Yes, where did you hear this? My guidance counselor told me today he thinks they’ll be distributed before friday but I think that was just his opinion.

I’ve been checking all of the news WM puts out verrrry frequently and haven’t found anything saying it is 5 PM today. at this point they are just saying some time this week. and on their facebook page they just posted 20 minutes ago that they still don’t know if they will be sent out early or late in the week.

Haha with the ED decisions they just said “sometime this evening”; I refreshed my email every 60 seconds for 4 hours straight before my parents hid my laptop from me. Didn’t hear until 9 pm! Haha longest night ever but so worth it. Good luck 2015ers! Fingers crossed for you!

As soon as decisions are released we will let people know to check their in-boxes. Unfortunately we cannot simply push a button and release all decisions. It’s a lot more complicated than that and it takes a great deal of time. To avoid having applicants sit nervously in front of a computer all night we will let applicants know once all decisions have been emailed.

Until you see something on the W&M Undergraduate Admission website or until we (W&M Admission) post on CC that decisions have been released any other rumors about decisions releases are simply that.
