Just got an ipod, need help

<p>I got an ipod shuffle last night and I have no idea how to use it. I want to put music from some of my CDs on it, but it isn't working. </p>

<p>This is what I've done so far:</p>

<p>I was able to get the songs already on my computer into my ipod, so I know it can play music just fine.</p>

<p>Next, I picked 4 songs from one of my CDs and added them to my itunes library. </p>

<p>However, I can't get the CD songs to go onto my ipod. Every time I try, it just says "unknown error."</p>

<p>Does anyone who's had an ipod for awhile now know what I should do?</p>

<p>Are you sure that you imported them, not just dragged them in first? I'm not very sure other than that but a great site is ipodlounge.com</p>

<p>They're in my itunes library, so I assume that I imported them. I've tried importing several times and it says that they already are imported. </p>

<p>Right now, I have only 8 songs on it that weren't on the CD. I keep trying to add CD songs, but the error message keeps appearing.</p>

<p>First off, try restoring the iPod by pressing the restore button in iTunes. Next, make sure you can play the songs even when the CD is not in the drive. Then go to Advanced->Consolidate Library. This will copy all the music into the iTunes folder so you can delete the originals. Then try syncing again.</p>
