can any of you post your request? like the exact wordings?

i just got one(not from Dartmouth) with:
"We are reviewing applications for financial assistance for the 2007-2008 academic year that have been submitted to this office. In order to complete our analysis of the application that you submitted, we must have additional information and clarification as requested below"

here is another one that I got in mid-feb from MIT, which has no correlation to acceptance:
"Thank you for your interest in MIT. Your application for admission is currently under consideration by the Admissions Committee. We encourage you to submit all of your financial aid materials in a timely manner, in order to expedite the financial aid packaging process should you be offered admission to MIT."

Just wondering how these letters are usually worded

lordofthedark, mine was like yours for dartmouth

but the one i got was from stanford not dartmouth.

"i just got one(not from Dartmouth) with:"

I posted here because there isn't a thread like this for stanford. i guess this isn't that important, sorry for the confusion

anyways, I guess the only thing we can do is wait. maybe you can call their finanical aid office and ask if they sent out these letters to everyone

yeah this is what mine said

"Although the Admissions Committee is still deliberating, the Financial Aid Office is currently reviewing Class of 2011 documents. We want to ensure that when candidates are selected for admission, we will have sufficient information on file to make a financial aid decision."

though that seems like a good sign, it is true that the financial aid office and the admissions office don't have anything to do with each other. usually they calculate financial aid for every applicant that needs it/applies for it, then they just weed out who the admissions office decides to reject later. but hey! any good sign will do now. plus you have 3 days to find out! BEST of freaking luck! :)

Also, if they're not completing your FA file until now, you're at the very end of the list for it, so you probably won't get much. Don't mean to be a downer, but that's why not everyone just doesn't send in one of their FA forms by accident to get early notification (cos when I first read about these instances it crossed my mind, believe me :P).

I emailed the Financial Aid office asking whether I should have my dad send in his 2005 tax form while his 2006 won't be back until next week, and this was the response:

Thank you for your recent email.

Please have the 2006 tax information submitted as soon as possible. Sounds like
he is close to having it completed. You can have it sent directly to our
office.
