I really want to attend University of Washington next year. However, I have a few questions...about both admissions and the calender.

So, first, admissions. I know University of Washington has rolling admissions. In most cases, if you apply really early do you still get an answer early? Or, is it pretty random and hard to track? My problem is that if I'm rejected from UW, then I'll want to apply ED II to another school and...yeah, does that make any sense?

Alos, the year starts really late (autumn term)...Not really late, but late September? Is this good or bad in most cases? And isn't there a program for students to go earlier? I thought I saw one, but maybe I'm crazy...

Thank you!

U of W does have rolling admissions, however, this year, with their new admissions process, it may have taken them a longer time to reach decisions. My daughter applied in December and heard in late February. She heard much earlier from other schools that had rolling admissions. She was out of state, so that may be why she heard a little later.

I have one daughter on the quarter system in California. She loves it. She feels like she gets to take more classes, and if she is taking one that isn't so good, she only has to endure it for 9 weeks. Most of her high school friends went to schools on the semester system, so the only time it was really hard was after her senior year in high school, because they all left a month before her.

My daughter who is going to UW has all her high school friends going to schools on the quarter system, so she is thrilled they will be in town longer.

With regard to the program that starts early---she got a mailing on it yesterday. I believe it runs from August 15th until September 15. There are a series of seminars (classes) with which you can select from. It does cost $$, although it states that financial aid is available.

I hope that helps.

That was amazing!!! Thank you so much!
