Just take classes? Or get an associates degree?

I’m currently enrolled in a community college and I’m taking classes to transfer to a four year college later on. my first semester I looked at the four-year college websites and took the same classes as the biology majors are. Should I continue taking those classes and transfer later or get my associates degree in natural science before I transfer? Does having a degree before I transfer make a difference?
Help!

Thank u!

@shenaiya it depends on where you are planning to transfer to. I haven’t done much research outside california, but for some public 4-year schools here associate degree is highly preferred, other don’t really care as long as all of the major prerequisites are completed.

I would recommend you get the associate’s degree to lock in those credits. If you end up having a gap between when you take the classes and when you graduate, this could become an issue.

Thank you!
