I applied ED for Spelman in November. They sent me a letter back asking for my semester grades before making a final decision, and they will let me know April 1st.

Has anyone else received a letter like this?

April 1st will they be sending out acceptance letters or rejections?

Thank you for the feedback.

you’ve been “deferred”. It means they’re considering you a worthy applicant but not quite tippy-top in the ED applicant pool. They keep your interest in mind but want to make sure your senior grades are as good or better than the grades you got junior year.
If your grades improved senior year, your odds increase. If they didn’t, then you should be expecting a deny (although it’s not by far guaranteed, buf if you need to prepare yourself psychologically, well…)

I applied early too and I received an acceptance letter about 1-2 weeks ago. You may consider contacting them concerning your status.
