Oh well the wait is OVER. No big red envelope for us. The mailman came and there was nothing. I guess they save the rejections for the portal. The handwriting was on the wall. Thanks to you folks for sharing all these months. Congratulations to all of you admitted. This was the only rejection out of 16 schools applied to. All others with merit except Boston College and most of the SUNY Schools as we are instate.I am not bitter or sad at all. I am actually relieved that the wait is over and we can move on to the other phase of this process . I know my student was not lacking anything. DC will have a great experience at either SUNY Binghamton or Case Western in the fall. This actually makes the decision much easier.
Nothing in the mail for us either. He’s been rejected or waitlisted SO many places that were stat matches for him I can’t imagine good news is coming at 4. Maybe its our high need. IDK
Waitlisted AGAIN. I’m thinking unless you are truly above and beyond outstanding if you have financial need that’s where they put you. He has stats at the 75th percentile for both GPA and SAT. This not the first time this has happened at a need aware college. 5th waitlist thus far. The only schools that have accepted him he has won huge amounts of merit money, etc. The difference in acceptance rates has been minimal. And judging on how little merit aid, etc Layfayette is handing out (this year?) it sounds like full pay or close to it certainly helps. Ah well. He loves it and will stay on the waitlist.
