Summary and Observations:
Number of applications were up 6% but the number of admitted students went down by 9%. So, OSU’s acceptance rate has gone from around 49% to 41%. The incoming class for Fall 2016 was larger by around 900 students or 12-13% over the one in Fall 2015. They ran into housing shortage (with 2 year residence requirement). I believe their target class is about the same as the one in Fall 2015, so that the combined number of first and second year students is about the same as it was last year.
OSU is going to update this link every week (usually before noon each Monday). This might give an indication of how likely they are going to pick from wait-list. Acceptances are running around 12% lower compared to last year, but as I indicated, their expected class-size is also at least 10-11% smaller.
