I was just wondering about Lawrenceville houses, specifically the Circle and Crescent(I do not know which one are for guys). I am going to enter there as a sophomore.

I know that this does not matter, but I would like to know the reputation of the "male" houses.

And how it really is, is there are lot of competitiveness(like in Harry Potter)?

At the squash camp I did at L’ville they had us in the Carter Dorm idk if it is for freshman or seniors but Carter was just re-done and it is very nice.

Circle = guys, Crescent = girls.

As for reputation (take this with a grain of salt), Kennedy is the rich house, Hamill is the Asian house, Woodhull is the gaming house, Cleve is the prankster house, Gris is the second Woodhull, and Dickinson is the bad house.

and is it possible to choose the house? Please no Dickinson

Unless you have legacy, I don’t think it’s possible to choose a house. Don’t fret if you’re put in Dickinson. Once a Dick, you’ll be a proud dick.

@MBV do all the new freshman live in the same house

One of Lawrenceville’s greatest strengths is it’s diversity. The faculty work to create a microcosm of the school in each house. So while students may sometime perceive one house to be more of something then another, it is not really the case. Freshman live together in a single house and when it is time for them to “graduate” to the circle or crescent houses the students choose their roommates. The faculty who support the freshman then work to build a house that includes their roommates, people they know they will get along with all with a mind towards diversity. Then the new 10th and 11th graders are layered on. It all works, and when you get your house you will love it. It is something to be excited about.

@squash: yes, freshmen live together. Sophs and juniors get assorted into Houses. Seniors live together.
