LEAD accepted me. Johnson School '07. :) :) :)

Congradulations! Cornell right?

Yes, that's right.

got the letter today!

Hey, who here is doing that wallstreet thing?

I can't because Wharton doesn't finish until August 4, I think, and their dates coincide.

Wharton finishes on August 3rd ( one day after my bday!)

when does everyone have to send in the deposits/ notify LEAD that they're definitely going. Because I got waitlisted and they said they'd notify me when a spot opens up so I may attend. I want to get a rough estimate when I would be notified. Thanks.

everyone has to notify LEAD by tommorow...and the packets for ur specific host school is sent out early may. so i would say early-mid may is when u would be notified.

thanks for the quick response. i'm crossing my fingers!

yeah
had to overnight my official reply on Friday to be sure it got there
that would be sad if someone lost his or her spot because they didn't get the mail out in time

I didn't overnight. I mailed it on Saturday. It'll arrive tomorrow or wednesday. It was notarized on Saturday, so they'll know I stuck to the deadline.

I didn't submit my financial aid form or LEAD to Wall Street app, though. I'll fax both tomorrow. They may not be accepted, but I'm hopeful. The people at LEAD seem understanding. I need my airfare to be paid. Talking to my mom, however, we can do without financial aid. Nevertheless, the costs do accumulate. Hey, they may recieve the documents before my reply:)

I emailed LEAD scans of all the paperwork including copies of the deposit checks last night and faxed them copies too because my regular mail wouldn't get there by today. I then called her today and she was ok with what I did since she had proof. She also said that you have to arrive at the airport before 3:00 PM on the 5th of July and that even though LEAD ends at Wharton on the 3rd of August you can't fly out till the 4th.

good to hear everything is cool
this '07 class of LEADers needs to have a get together one day down the line
I think our actual SBI classes have reunions, but I think the entire '07 class needs to have one too, one day years from now

Hahaha, maybe when the program gets bigger man.

bigger?
how so?

ppl-wise
7,000 alumni = almost twice the number of Coco-Cola scholars

rep-wise
just look at the SBIs, past, present, and future

oh, I just read this

Alumni Reunions
LEAD will kick off its Alumni Reunions this summer! Alumni Reunions will be hosted at each SBI beginning in July 2005. The Associate Director of Alumni Affairs, Laura Morrison will assist each SBI in forming a Reunion Committee to plan their event. LEAD’s first reunion will take place this summer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. The remaining SBIs will have reunions in the summer of 2006.

Personally, I think it would be a good idea to do a Reunion down the road. If you think about it, it's a good way to network and you might meet someone from a different SBI that could help you out down the road.

Can't wait for the information packets to arrive!
