Leadership Award Overnight Stay Program Email?!

@pr4321 Its all good! i understand how stressful the next two days are :frowning: ! and good luck to you too . @QuirkyGirl YES its so freaky like its right before decisions come out. So nervous !! Does anyone no what time they mean when they say evening. And also is there anyone out there that applied for the achievement award but did not get this email today .?

@purple4, I believe decisions come out in the evening around the time UCLA came out. Surprisingly, the email didnā€™t given the notice which it always does about how the scholarship application has no link to the admission results! Iā€™m so scared now. Like everybody applied from my school :-SS

did everyone that applied from your school get this email?? and also did you get it as wellā€¦ i feel like alot of people got it but its going in their spam folder so they didnt see it ā€¦ it happened to a couple of my friends! @QuirkyGirl

@purple4 @QuirkyGirl Youā€™re talking about the Achievement Award, right? Not the Leadership Award?

@purple4 Yes, I got one,but I donā€™t think anybody got it from my school because theyā€™re usually affluent people who donā€™t qualify for the scholarship. However, I believe something happened today that led them to send the emails. Perhaps, the committee already knows who is qualifying for the scholarship and decided to send it to them? The wait is killing me! @-)

@QuirkyGirl I really hope your right ! Im really anxious now. I hope this a good sign :slight_smile: @jackson61 Yes its for the achievement scholarship! sorry for invading the leadership pageā€¦ i would have started a new thread but didnt know how to since im new to this

Oh also @QuirkyGirl do you know if the affluent students actually applied for the scholarship or just for Berkeley in generalā€¦ because if they applied for the scholarship and didnt get an email then this MIGHT be a good sign. I guess we will just have to wait and see 2 more days

@purple4 Ah no problem :slight_smile: and good luck!!

Good luck to you too! @jackson61

I got a similar email for the Equity Scholarship that my app was in the process of being reviewed. I ended up getting waitlisted at UCLA. Just hoping for the best now!

lol should i be concerned that I didnā€™t get this email even though I applied ? I didnā€™t get any likely email from ucla but I got in ā€¦? Idk this whole process is just nerve racking ā€¦ I WANNA GO TO BERKELEY ! Lol anyone who wants to see my stats can just click in my user and see some of my newer posts lol and if they can chance me :slight_smile: good luck everyone

@mehh1234 Wait which email didnā€™t you get? Did you get the Leadership Award Invite? Did you apply? If so, did you get the Overnight Stay Program email?

@mehh1234 I didnā€™t get one either and I got rejected by UCLA. If you are international donā€™t worry I donā€™t know of any international who got one.

Honestly, stats mean literally nothing this year, everything is going haywire.

@jackson61

I received the leadership award invite and also applied to it. Hahah and I didnā€™t receive the overnight stay program ā€¦ Sigh it seems like an ominous sign for tomorrowā€™s result :(

@Keepyourshirton
Nah man Iā€™m oos from Texas. Lol I agree abt things going haywire hahah. Just hope that they go haywire in my favor.

Lol good luck to both of yall

@Keepyourshirton honestly basically all the UC decisions this year have been out of whack. I have friends with 2200s who got rejected from UCI and UCD. Like what?

@alwayswonderines
I feel ya. I was like ā€œā– ā– ā– !?ā€ when LA rejected me and took a lot of people with lower stats and weaker credentials. I can only hope the rumor that qualified LA rejected are likely to be picked up by Berkeley is true.

@alwayswonderines I was waitlisted from UCSD with a 2290 SAT I/800, 800, 750, 730 SAT IIs/4.32 uncapped UC GPAā€¦ To be fair, though, I think my unweighted UC GPA isnā€™t up to UCSD standardsā€¦ or UC Berkeley standards, for that matter :-SS

@jackson61 I donā€™t think thatā€™s true! I know some people with 4.0 UCGPA and they got in to UCSD. Freaking crapshoot, thatā€™s what it is! At least you got into some UCā€™s right? I have one friend with the same SAT as me and she got rejected from almost every UC she applied to.

@Keepyourshirton Same here! I try so hard to be happy for them, I really do. I hope we get accepted to Cal.

@alwayswonderines Thanks! And yeah, Iā€™m a little confused :stuck_out_tongue: Ah well, good luck, everyone!

Hello everyone, a junior at Berkeley here. I know the school fairly well-- not an expert but definitely more than most of you.

A few comments:

Berkeleyā€™s great! But one of its flaws is the bureaucracy. Most of you are reading way too much into the departmental communications between the CAA (Cal Alumni Association) & the OUA (Office of Undergrad Admissions), and I can guarantee you that they donā€™t communicate much. You are right that the initial email with the Leadership Award application email was sent to only a select group of applicants, but the Overnight Stay Program isnā€™t a likely letter.

With that said, I applied to the Leadership Award and got the OSP email. I was admitted, and so were most of my friends who got that email. But mind you, you can see from many threads that not everyone who gets that OSP email gets in. So take it with a grain of salt.

Thereā€™s also quite a bit of speculation about UCLA vs UCB OUAs communicating together. I can promise they donā€™t have any conspiracy theory to admit to one school and not the other school. I got into both schools. I also know quite a few intelligent people who got into one but not the other. I also know many smart ppl who didnā€™t get into either.

I know admission decisions will be released soon: best of luck! If you get in, I hope you will consider Berkeley; itā€™s a great school. It wasnā€™t necessarily my first choice (I didnā€™t really have one) but I can say that knowing what i know now, if I were to go back in time I would make the same decision again in a heartbeat.
