hello everyone! You can come up with any theories you’d like but the situation here in Berkeley isn’t as complicated as you think…

The matter is that OUA doesn’t like giving out any details of who-got-in to ANYONE (including other departments within the university; increasing communication of sensitive data increases the risk of leakage). Therefore, the scholarship departments rank ppl and read all the applications they see. They get a list of accepted students after the decision day. The scholarship departments make adjustments accordingly (remove rejected ppl, shift up slots, etc).

To everyone who received OSP letters: they’re definitely not bad signs but don’t take them as good signs either. I know it’s gonna be the longest few hours of your life until 5pm tomorrow but it’ll come before you know it! Good luck everyone!

What is interesting is that Overnight email stated that if accepted you will get another email on March 27 with instructions how to register, that is right when desisions are published, but to prep bulk email takes time, I am pretty sure the get hold of status before to merge it. Somehow invite list has to be updated with acceptance before it gets emailed - and it takes time.

Son accepted for fall! Previously he had the Leadership invite and the OSP invitation. Hoping to get the official invitation soon so he can rsvp.

Son got accepted into EECS with Leadership invite but not the OSP invite. He was also accepted to UCLA Electrical Engineering (his 2nd choice, 1st being Computer Science & Engineering).

Did anyone who was accepted receive their follow-up email about the Overnight Stay Program, which the original email said would be sent out today?
