I just want to wish everyone a happy life and summer, and for the odds to ever be in your favor (got that from someone on here lol). And it will be quite a coincidence if we were to ever meet later in life.
Final words: To all of those who didn’t make it these are somber moments, and for those who did make it these are joyous moments. However, In the future we all rather you made it or did not make it will have somber and joyous moments, but you must always remember that success and happiness is not a fabrication of awards, medals, materialism, nor where you come from. Though those are key factors in life, success is determined by what you do with your life… How often you get back up, how long you can stand on your feet, and how often you can uplift others. To the person who showed hate to @shanabanana1, I hope you find success and I hope that you can find peace with yourself, and to @shanabanana1 I hope you continue to be excited about the opportunities this world has to offer and I hope you achieve what it is you desire. May you never forget though that this world owes you nothing, however you will always owe yourself, family, and God your utmost effort in this life.
@shanabanana1 I am very sorry to hear that you got rejected!! I was really rooting for you because you kept this forum alive a lot of the time. Please don’t let this screw up your plans for the future, keep your head up, study hard and apply to Yale because you are clearly amazing if you made it this far. I got lucky by getting into LEDA but I might not get into any of my top school choices and that’s ok because life isn’t always gonna work out, but all that means is that I have to work hard towards the next opportunity. Just Please promise me you’ll keep working hard and aim for the top!
@Lakerdrop24 You said that quite eloquently. Thank you.
@Ahmeda14960 Thanks! I’m sure that you’ll get into your top choices because you’re very awesome as well!
@Lakerdrop24 did you hear anything today?
Yes, I had read my rejection letter after I got off work lol. I was expecting it. In a way it kinda feels good. We’re all super smart, and I think life becomes pretty easy and we get tokens and recognition constantly for being you know “on top”. Then we can start to think like we’re invincible almost, and like someone here said a while back, " like we’re meant to have everything just because ". So it feels good to apply and kinda be knocked back down into reality. Makes you more humble as well for what you do have.
well it’s been fun everyone. but i too was denied to go to this program. we’ve had our ups and downs, but noe i feel a huge release being so stressed out on this LEDA thing, now i can sit back and acknowledged that i tried.
If you have questions about what to expect DM me!
@danieljg511 You must be talking about Yousef, or Erick. There are like 12 scholars going to Stanford. lol
Also to maybe ease some tension. The average income of LEDA is 37000, I think. But I am way above that. I don’t even qualify for a pell grant. So they don’t just look for really poor people. The D in LEDA stands for Diversity and they really try to diversify their cohorts.
@Iamnumber4fan heard anything?
@smarttaytay I had my interview on monday but haven’t heard anything. should I contact leda or just be patient?
Nope haven’t heard anything. How many do you think are accepted by now? @da2949
for those who got accepted (congrats again) but if u don’t mind can you describe what you talked about
I think a majority got accepted @Iamnumber4fan maybe there is a waitlist now
do u mean what we talked about in our interview?
yup
i honestly don’t remember much because i was really distracted @Iamnumber4fan
I wasn’t fully focused during my interview because I had it during school and I kept moving all around my school trying to find a quiet place because the students were so loud
