legacy likely letter?

whoa, sorry for that alliteration.

anyway,
my dad got this letter today from the office of undergrad admissions that read:

"On behalf of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the entire University community, I want you to know how pleased we are that [your daughter] has chosen to apply to the UNC at CH. While we are grateful whenever any young person shows an interest in Carolina, we are especially appreciative in this case, given your close ties to the University. I want to assure you that [your daughter] will receive every possible consideration from our office as we make our decisions."

then it went on to describe the atmosphere at UNC, spirit, alumni ties, etc.

is this just a flattery letter for more money? or a likely letter? or nothing?

thanks!

I think it is just a flattery letter.....but ya never know!

did you also get "the letter" (see thread elsewhere in forum)?

carolinaheaven- haha, no

i guess that means i'm basically in the same pool as everyone else :)

ah, well. i can always transfer.

legacy gives some of a boost to admission, especially out of state, no matter what they tell you. seems like a likely letter to me.

i got it too

cookie monster- are you applying to UNC as well?

yeah, i applied ea to unc... you're applying too right?

applied ea
