Letters of Recommendation

Hi, my question is about the teacher evaluations. If they submit a letter that talks about the student, is it still necessary for them to fill out the short answer part of the questionnaire? I know for some schools a letter can replace the short answer questions. Is stanford the same? thanks

It'll probably be best for the teacher to fill out the form, although you can find out for sure simply by calling the admissions office.

It's up to the teacher. Some fill it out, some don't. Most teachers (at least at public schools) write one letter that they send to all the schools you are applying to, and do not fill out individual forms.

I talked to a stanford admissions officer yesterday. She said that no, the form is not required. If you can though, after you fill out part 1 of your app, print out the form and give it to your teacher, even if they dont write anything on it, because theres a barcode at the bottom that helps them track it to your file quicker.

Yes, the teacher is supposed to attach the letter to the form, and you should fill out your info on the top of the form.

hey, thanks so much!
