All,
My sincere apologies to cfcpauls for misinterpreting his/her post. If anyone else has used the new mobile version (ie iPhone/Android) version of CC you’ll notice the post count, date joined, location, etc, of the member posting is not visible. I was wrong and I am sorry for jumping to the wrong conclusion. Thank you for pointing out my mistake so I could make a needed apology. This is one case I really should have left it to the students!!

Again, congratulations and best of luck to all UVa hopefuls!!

Second paragraph: Please give serious consideration to UVA . . . Third paragraph: While visitation is not one of the factors considered . . . students often find it helpful.

Dear dankTank,

As the first of several phases in our application review ends this week, I thought it would be a good time to take a break from reading and write you. In talking with your peers over the past few weeks, it sounds like the final months of senior year are fast paced and filled with many memorable events. And I am sure you are excited and nervous, waiting for the letters that will soon be on their way from U.Va and the other schools where you’ve applied.

Things are busy as usual this winter in Charlottesville. If you want to keep up with what is happening here, I encourage you to read our student newspaper, The Cavalier Daily. Check out the top stories, athletic results, student editorials, concerts and speakers, and the cartoons that are often pretty funny. You can even read it online from the comforts of your home. It’s the place to go to get your daily fix of life at U.Va.

I hope you know that we understand your feelings this time of year. By the time we release decisions on April 1st, we too will be excited and nervous; excited that we have made our decisions and nervous in hopes that those admitted will choose to come.

Thank you for your application to the University of Virginia and I wish you the best as you finalize your college plans.

Sincerely,

Oops! Cfcpauls93 and I were writing at the same time. Thanks, CFC!

This is an email sent to all applicants. It might help to read the Likely Letter post on my blog. Likely Letters are physical letters sent in the mail. The only exception to that would be for international students. The Likely Letter text was posted around here somewhere. It is clearly quite different, as it makes references to the student’s strong application.
