<p>i got a letter from duke today saying im one of the "roughly 350 particularly outstanding applicants this year, a signal accomplishment in a pool of over 19,000 applicants". yay!</p>

<p>My friend's D, who is also a NMF, got a likely letter from Duke yesterday, along with an invitation for the scholarship weekend in March.</p>

<p>I can't ... not my child so I don't know the exact stats. She is a National Merit Finalist. She also has some very strong ECs in language clubs (national level), music (recreational level) and athletics (high school varsity, 3 sports but not recruited athlete).</p>

<p>no clue. but on my midyear report, i had four a's and one b. curse english!</p>

<p>I got a letter. How do some ppl already know about being finalists for scholarships? the duke letter said they will notify applicants by early march if they are finalists via overnight mail or something, and those who aren't get no mail.</p>
