I was out and my mom called telling me I'd gotten a my letter--a likely letter! (She opened it without thinking...hahaha I guess she couldn't restrain her excitement/curiosity and I can't really blame her) I am sooo stoked! Best wishes to Katelm~ I hope you end up getting in!! Also, congrats to other "likely" Wellesley potentials!! :)

Still waiting in Wyoming...

my gf just got a likely letter!

i got a likely letter.. now i need to hear from brandeis

Does anyone know how likely "likely" is?

likely is 100% ur in. possible is 25% chance ur in. unlikely is well.. 100% chance ur not in. that was .. somewhere.. i can't remember.

"Unlikely" yesterday...a bit surprising, but I am now trying to become more comfortable with the other schools to which I applied.

agree somewhat with Kassy. I think last year something like 98% of likelies got in. So just don't get arrested or fail all your classes, and all should be well. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

I got mine yesterday. Likely letter.. whoohoo! :):):) I'm absolutely thrilled with the news and anticipate the spring. Congrats to the other EE likelys, and if you're a possible, you still have a decent chance. If you're one of the possible ones, I suggest sending in an update to the College if you've recently accomplished something they don't know about, or having your GC tell them they're your top choice (if they indeed are).

I'll help elizabeth out in posting the rest of the letter. Just in case it is helpful to anyone who wants it, not sure if any of you do. Here goes.

*Given the record number of applications to Wellesley this year, the pool of EE candidates was extremely competitive. You are among the very best students in this select group. Over the past decade, Wellesley has received some of the strongest applications in its history. Admission to the College will be highly competitive this spring. As a result of your favorable early evaluation, you will be among the top candidates fro admission. You deserve recognition for being so outstanding in this superb group.

An invitation to attend Spring Open Campus will be sent to you in March. This program is designed to help admitted students make their final college choice. It will be held on April 2 and 22. Both Wellesley professors and current students look forward to this event each year, since they enjoy speaking with the newly admitted students. We hope that you will take advantage of this excellent opportunity to learn more about the educational possibilities that await you here and qualities that make Wellesley an exceptional academic community. Please save the dates.

Final decision letters will be mailed in late March. Our decision is based on the satisfactory completion of your senior year at the same high level of achievement you have already demosntrated. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.*

Everyone who has received a letter could you please post your stats.

1 excellent teacher rec, other one and guidance normal
my english teacher really liked my essay....
ordinary ECs (not terrible, but nothing outstanding either)
APs: 5, 5, 5, 4 (taking 5 this year)

I met the admissions office who reads for my school at a summer school college fair last year and spent like an hour chatting with her - it seems she remembered me, 'cause she called my school earlier this year to find out if I was going to apply. I guess that probably helped.

SAT Verbal 720 Math 680

GPA 4.14 weighted 3.8 unweighted Ranked 14th in the class of 324

Excellent recommendations

I'm not sure how good my essay was- to be honest, no one (except me and the adcom, of course) ever laid eyes on it. It was unique and heartfelt, and hopefully well written.

Pretty good ECs, and I'm guessing my recs were good.

hey! congrats to all who made it! anyway i got an email saying that my financial forms weren't complete...well i only submitted the CSS and nothing else. so anyway, is that probably a reason why I haven't gotten a letter yet?

34 ACT, 1480 SAT, 800Wr, 780IIc, 740Chem

4.0UW, top 2 or 3 percent

I have lots of e.c.s and awards and i'm guessing my recs were good.
I was also given the Wellesley Book Award junior year. that might have helped, but i'm not sure.

Yay! I'm "likely." Wellesley is the first college I've heard from! So exciting... There's a Wellesley community on livejournal, and people there said that even people who have received "unlikely" letters have been admitted each year so no one should give up hope yet!

I definitely don't fit into Wellesley's outgoing, serious, medical/law school-bound leader stereotype. I don't know if I deemed likely to be admitted because of or despite this.

No leadership at all but I've moved a lot (4 different high schools); my essay was weird and included descriptions of my childhood fantasies. I wrote multiple drafts of three essays on completely different topics until I generated one non-weird enough to please my guidance counselor (or maybe she just gave up).
I sent in a (mostly computer) art portfolio that tied my creative skills to my goal of becoming a scientist.

My interview was probably not so bad as to have hurt me but I found it really hard to talk charmingly about myself to stranger.
Admissions lady: What are three words to describe yourself?
Me: Um, err, I would say creative because I like to do, like, creative things. And... maybe thoughtful? I mean, not like I think a lot - though, err, I do! - but I am, err, thoughtful of people, err, you know, their... feelings. And... Um... Wait, was that three?
[long pause]
Admissions lady: Do you have any questions about Wellsley?

Can you tell us how to locate livejournal.

hey sneveu, what is the wellesley community on livejournal called. i acually have a livejournal accoint and never knew about the wellesely one. what is the username?

SAT (710v/760m), SATII (750 Writing, 720 Math1c, 720 Math2c)

Good 1st semester grades
I don't think my essay was that unique but it was sincere

Question, what other colleges have you guys applied to?
