Anyone who applied under liberal arts hear anything back yet?
@linds311 whats your major?
I just want to warn everyone that if you call them, they seem to give you this generic answer of either “you’ll hear back within the next week” or “you’ll hear back in 3-6 weeks.” I called them in early March and they told me it would be by May 1. Not helpful at all as I already knew that. My college counselor then called them a couple days later and they said that I should have the decision in about a week. Keep in mind, this was early March, it is now April 29 and I still don’t have a decision. In early April, my college counselor randomly called again and told me that they said it would be 3-6 weeks as this was the time that it should take after your status changes to “under review” on mypaw. Well, the first time I saw that my application as under review was about 8 weeks ago. So calling isn’t very personalized or effective in my opinion.
Anyone agree with me or have a similar experience? Honestly, I’m really frustrated with them.
Also, I sent them a nice email to show my interest about a month ago and they never responded, but every other college that I’ve emailed even with just quick question has always responded swiftly. It seems like they literally just don’t care about me/their applicants…
@linds311 I applied my senior year of high school but didn’t get accepted, so I’m a re-applicant. It’s weird though cause they didn’t ask me for my final grades for the spring semester. My status just went from “under review” to “accepted”. They just put in my letter (which I received in the mail yesterday) that my acceptance is contingent upon successful completion of the spring semester, nothing more. I don’t know if it’s because I noted on my application that I’m graduating at my cc with an associate’s degree in the summer 2016.
@ctehin - I experienced the same thing! Called three times and got different answers each time. I applied by the deadline so we should receive something before May 1st. If not, I will be disappointed and probably just accept a different school’s offer.
@linds311 they also told me that they were gonna wait for my final spring semester grades!! The suspense is killing me! :((
@Panitaispretty @linds311 how did they notify you guys that they wanted to see your spring grades?
@ctehin hey! The director of transfer enrollment sent the email. So I guess technically it was the admissions office
Have you guys tried reaching out to the director of transfer admissions via phone/email directly? I reached out over email a few times and upon hearing no response I messaged LMU undergraduate admission over Facebook and they got back to me promptly. After that, my emails to transfer departments were almost immediately returned. Had a phone call with the transfer department after that, and about a week after that I was accepted. Good luck to everyone!
@alexk97 I didn’t email the director. I felt like I should but for some reason my college counselor had me email the assistant director transfer coordinator (Vanessa Miranda). Should I email the director instead? Vanessa Miranda never responded to me and it made me a little worried. What did you say when you messaged them on facebook? I’m weary to say that no one responded to my emails because I feel like that sounds complainy or rude but I don’t know how else to make any progress with this admissions process lol
Just called again this morning. The lady who answered sounded annoyed. I got the same generic answer which was that I’ll hear a response by the end of this week or next week. She said the admissions office is currently working right now to get all of the decisions out.
lol, I was going to call again but I will refrain. Thanks for the warning. It says on the website that they get around 500 transfer applicants a year. I guess they are swamped…
Does anyone know if they send rejection letters in the mail? I called today, and the admission officer said that I would be receiving a response in the mail by the end of this week.
@ctehin I’ve literally have had the same experience. I think I have been calling about 3-4 times a week to check up on my application status, and they keep giving me the same generic response. They practically know me now, lol.
Hey guys, so I’ve been creepin’ on this thread for a little, and just wanted to say that when I messaged the university on facebook (today) about how I didn’t receive a decision before or after the decision notification date (May 1) I was wondering when prospective transfer students would hear something. They didn’t respond with a date but they did say they were sorry for the delay and that they were sending my name to the transfer enrollment services and that they would be following up with me about my application. So at least this is a different response than what we’ve previously heard.
I messaged them and all they said was that I should hear back soon
“Hello, thank you for your patience! We are currently finalizing our admission decisions, and you will hear back very soon. You can also email transfer@lmu.edu to check the status of your application.”
That was from LMU admissions on FB
@sbccstudent19 @ctehin I got the same exact response!
Me too! exact wording
