Local Reception

I got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday, along with 3 other pieces of mail (which said "Only for accepted students" so i knew I was in before reading the letter) but I was wondering if anyone has already gone to a local reception who wasn't sure if they really wanted to go to Tulane? Did you find it helpful? Is it mostly meeting people from your area?

Thanks a lot!

Since you haven't received any answers to this, I'll take a shot. I'm an alum who helped out at a local reception last year for admitted students. Basically, all students admitted in your area are invited. An admissions counselor did a short presentation and answered questions, and the head of the honors program did the same about the program. We (the alum present) introduced ourselves, and were there to answer questions afterwards. I think that it would be helpful if you have any thought about whether to attend. It's a positive, upbeat progam that gives you a little more insight into the school. You should consider attending it. (Of course, the program will probably vary at each location based on who can attend from the school.)
