What is there to do for fun in the summer in Berkeley? Where do you meet people outside of the classroom?

man the weather sucks…it makes me feel like nothing is fun and like its not summer

anyone know when it will get into high 70s/80s-this blows

get a boyfriend

^how applicable is that advice if you’re a straight male?

well…it would make for an interesting summer :D

lol, that would be an interesting summer. if you’re living on campus, then it should be fairly easy in the residence halls.

^ hahaha easier to look for a boyfriend or make friends?

res halls suck your money if you live in the summer.
there’s no fun at berkeley. i make better comments when i’m not there. sohrry.

both! You never know what may happen in the co-ed bathrooms

LOL usually nothing happens…

if something is going to happen, why do it in the bathrooms when a dorm room is steps away??

bathrooms are funner.

I’m wondering the same thing. I got a place two blocks off campus and I’m not sure where to meet new people. Classes? Find an EC?

I actually live fairly far from campus. But seriously, I am very bored and lonely. There are no conditions for meeting new people unlike in the school year. I understand people won’t just show up in front of my door to communicate with me so I am willing to put myself out there. But recently it has just been me trying to smile and make eye contact but no luck!

■■■■■■■■■■ great for finding ppl with common interests.

You can go to some of the bars/clubs around campus. If you have nothing to do, hit up a karaoke night. I know I want to.

Rideshare or BART and bus to Santa Cruz! Or go up into the hills and regional parks.

Asking where to find fun in CollegeConfidential is one of the most ironic things I’ve ever heard.

so true, unless one is seeking particularly amusing math problems, entertaining final exam questions or titillating disputes between professors over some academic minutia.

As above: “Lulz.”

I mostly just keep to myself, though I’ve spent a lot of time with a few particular friends and wouldn’t mind hitting up a karaoke night, actually.
