+1 if you are a junior in high school. (-1x10^600,000,000 if you are 45 and bald)

Did anyone say on your application if you had a preference of EECS or ME (instead of checking the “no preference” box)?

i checked the "no preference" box

when do we find out about the results?

Okay.. Lord help me if I get into the Computer Sciece/EE one..

Don't laugh at me but..

I've been going to this site for the past two days checking it a couple times to see if anyone had said anything else..

..and it just dawned on me that there was a page two.

I checked no preference too.. but I'm crossing my fingers if I get in that they give me the ME course.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add something..

HAPPY SAINT PATTY'S DAY!!!

I'm Irish. It would be sacrilegious to not share that with you.

(I think I should get an infinite amount of points for my heritage. :) )

It's my little sister's birthday today. (She was born with red hair and green eyes).

It's okay. I check the site every day too. :)

I checked ME (because I love building stuff and computers hate me).

computers hate me too. but the feeling is more mutual than not.

I hope your sister had a good birthday.

aaahhh i hate waiting!!!

honestly, i think both CS/EE and ME would be amazing. i've done some programming but know nothing about EE, and ME's cool b/c it involves a lot of math and physics. i'd be cool with either one.

but i want to know!!! lol :P

a friend of mine applied to wtp last year and was rejected, but was accepted to rsi. i hear that wtp rejects a lot of "overqualified" students who might not benefit from the program.

If they reject me simply because im "overqualified" (even though I highly doubt that I am) I'm going to be flat out angry. (apparently they don't like profanity on this site. oops.)

did I scare everybody off with that comment or something?? I'm sorrrrrry :(

Haha. It worries you that it's been almost 24 hours without someone posting on the site?

Yeah basically. I suppose as D-Day gets nearer I'm getting more and more paranoid.

I attended the WTP EECS program last summer. The program was really what you made of it. There was a lot of work (we got problem sets from each of the three classes every night, in addition to class work that we may have not finished during the class period), but it was also a lot of fun. I met some really interesting girls and made some really good friends. There is a lot of independence; you can basically explore Boston, as long as you're with someone else from the program and curfew was 11:00 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends, but with all of the work you probably won't be going out that much on the weekdays. You would think that being around 40 girls would be hard, but you can spend as much or as little time as you want to with everyone. Getting into and attending WTP by no means guarantees you admittance to MIT. Overall, attending WTP was a great experience and helped me decide that I wanted to study neither electrical engineering or computer science in college (ha ha).

lol vpl. thanks a lot for the synopsis of it :). could you do me a biggggggg favor and tell me what some of your stats are? (i.e test scores/gpa/other stuff) I may sound a bit obsessed but really I'm just quite nervous.. it means a great deal to me.

vpl...

did you apply/get any financial aid?

heh financial aid... need it.. desperately.

i've heard that the WTP question "Tell us something that you do for the fun of it" is an actual MIT undergrad app essay question...does anyone know if this is true?

yeah, it is.
