Mac or PC?

Do the onsite IT staff support PC's or Macs?

Is there a trend of increasing Macs on campus (S really likes the Macs in theory, but has been a PC person all of his life), or will their presence always be very much in the minority?

Any other pros or cons for either type specific to Tufts?

Likely go w/ laptop...I also read that wireless coverage is improving, but still spotty...any comments appreciated.

I think UIT supports both Macs and PCs. I think there is a slight bias towards PCs on campus, but Macs are definitely prevalent. I was a PC person all my life and switched to Mac about four months ago and I don't think I'll ever be going back to PCs. I don't think that there is really any difference between having a Mac or a PC on campus. Wireless is being improved and some of the dorms do get wireless but I feel like you don't really need wireless in your room since all the rooms have Ethernet jacks.

Tufts supports both; either will be fine, though a PC may be a bit simpler. Tons of ppl have mac laptops of various types though

macbooks/macbook pros are to lexus
as
PCs are to Ford Taurus

Any questions?

And remember that all new macs have webcams built in, so you can videochat with your son.
