From what I know, the decisions will only be sent out on Monday, March 22nd. I don’t think they’ll be releasing on this upcoming Monday.

what if you’re still a little unsure of what you want to be, but kind of know which field? (i hope this made sense hehe)

Hey guys, if anyone could answer this as it’s been a lingering thought
does Macaulay interview for all schools? I didn’t get an interview for Brooklyn College or CCNY and was wondering if I am ultimately rejected at this point because of this

Just got an email rejecting me for Macaulay Honors, offering to put me on a waitlist, and offering me a Queens Scholar program instead. Wasn’t expecting news until the 22nd so be on the lookout. It was in my promotions email, not my regular inbox.

Hey I just got the same email. How did you know it was a waitlist? It doesn’t say anything on this for me.

This is what the letter says. Apparently I would be placed on a waitlist only if I enroll as a Queens Scholar.

Thank you for applying to the Macaulay Honors College of the City University of New York at Queens College for fall 2021.

As you know, admission to this program is highly competitive, and our Admissions Committee had to choose from among many very qualified applicants. I regret to inform you that you have not been selected.

However, as the Committee was impressed by your abilities and achievements, we would like to offer you a $3,465 yearly scholarship through the Queens College Scholars program. Within the week you will receive a formal letter which contains information on how to accept this offer. We will also place you on the Macaulay wait list, which will be filling openings in the beginning of May.

As a Queens College Scholar, you will be required to enroll in an Honors Program for fall 2021. Please reach out to the Academic Coordinator of Honors and Scholarships Ms. Esther Smolar, QCSAwards@qc.cuny.edu, to discuss the honors option that will work best with your interests. This should be done at your earliest convenience.

As a Queens Scholar you have first priority of securing a place in our beautiful new residence hall, The Summit. Located in the heart of the campus, The Summit creates a unique environment that fosters a strong feeling of community. Not only is living on campus a great deal of fun and very affordable, but national research indicates that residential students generally have higher grade-point averages and are 20 percent more likely to graduate from college than students who live off campus. The Summit has a capacity of just over 500 students, so for your best chance of reserving a space, you should apply online at qc.cuny.edu/TheSummit.

Thank you again for considering Queens College to continue your education. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Admissions Office at admissions@qc.cuny.edu.

Sincerely,

Chelsea Lavington
Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Queens College CUNY

Mine seems exactly the same but it differs at one part. “As you know, admission to this program is highly competitive and the Queens College Macaulay Honors Committee in unison with the Queens College Scholars Committee has seen your impressive academic abilities and achievements allowing us at this time to offer you a $3,465 yearly scholarship.” Mine says nothing about a waitlist, neither does it explicity state I was rejected/accepted. That is the only hint I got.

The way I read this, you are on the Macaulay waitlist regardless of the scholar status. I think they are saying they put you on the waitlist, and this week they will also send you info to accept the honors program. The honors program is very similar I think! Congratulations!

elid14 I would call the admissions department to confirm what the letter means

I just sent an email. I thought admissions were supposed to come out 3/22. Will the admissions office be allowed to confirm what this means before that date?

Has anyone heard from anywhere else besides Queens? Waiting for Hunter here
 nothing yet

I just head back from the Admissions Office and they told me that Macaulay Admissions come out on 3/22. They did not confirm if I was accepted/rejected. So it seems like we wait till next week.

Weird they sent out that letter to you and that leavingLI got a rejection- I wonder if someone jumped the gun and sent out some emails too early

Did you call the Queens Macaulay office?

No I didn’t call, I just emailed the general Macaulay Admissions office.

It seems like QC sent out some emails they weren’t supposed to send out. It is quite possible that they won’t specifically state that you’ve been accepted/denied until 3/22. However, it seems that QC already knows who has been accepted/denied/waitlisted.

Someone at my school today received an email admitted to Macaulay Queens College! I did not put Queens College down but I would assume that they sent a few out early prior to the 3/22 date. In prior years they all sent out notifications at the same time so I would assume that we never know
this year has been hectic enough and everything all over the place in all honesty.
