MAE 9 as a freshman

According to my virtual adviser, I was supposed to take MAE 9 this fall, so I signed up for it a few days ago. But i just checked my UCSD email with a new 4 year plan that says MAE 9 is not recommended for incoming freshman because it is taught at an advanced level.... I'm thinking about dropping MAE9 and taking CSE3 (sixth college requirement) instead but I'm not sure what I should do. is MAE9 doable for someone with only a small amount of programming experience? is it possible to stay in the class and then drop it if it and change to CSE3 during the school year?

I was wondering the same thing when I enrolled so I contacted e-advising… The advisor said I could drop MAE 9 it and take any sixth college GE instead.
Look in the email you received because in mine they attached a pdf curriculum plan that was helpful too.
