Making the most of campus visit

My son and I visit Madison early next week for the standard campus visit sessions: first, the Admissions Info/Walking Tour, then the College of Engr Info Session. I assume these are both group events with no one-on-one time with anyone from admissions. Is that so? If so, is there anything we can do to register Great Interest in the mind of anyone? An interview, perhaps?

As a more general question, does contact, either on-campus or via email, with anyone in admissions help the cause?

UW doesn’t do interviews or give you any advantage for showing interest by filling their mailbox. It will be the student’s record that counts. This means keeping those grades up (no senior slacking) and showing why UW should take you via those essays and recommendations on the application. Therefore, relax and enjoy your visit. Use the visit to see if YOU like the school, not if the school likes you. Do take time to wander on your own.

Thanks, wis75. Appreciate your reply.
