Congratulations legion54 and son.

MSilvers has informed me that the degree in question at Duquesne would be Music Technology and not Jazz Studies.

Congratulations and welcome to Violist11, who has indicated acceptances here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1093491-music-education-ithaca-college-vs-suny-fredonia.html at Ithaca and SUNY Fredonia in performance and music ed.

Today S was accepted to Belmont University, Honors Program, and School of Music, Commercial Music Program Bass

BassBoyMom, congratulations to you both. I’ve entered the detail for the commercial music major, but the wording of your posts indicates he might be pursuing another subject as a second major.

If he’s planning a double or dual path, just update us, and either BassDad or I will add it to the compilation.

I have a question about the acceptance letters. When applying to a School of Music attached to a University, how long after the School of Music acceptance letter do you get the University acceptance letter, and is that when the scholarship information is presented?

There is no one answer. Sometimes the acceptances are a day or two apart, sometimes a week or more; on occasion, they can be concurrent.

Financial aid, scholarships are all over the board. Many times talent awards are with the acceptance letter, but do not specify any other merit, academic monies. You may wait weeks to see final complete financial aid package.

If you have specific schools in mind, I’d suggest a new thread. You can also look through the scholarship threads I linked a few posts back here.

Music Business

BBM: Got it. Thanks.

The two schools that were attached to universities don’t let anyone apply until they are accepted to the uni, so i have been accepted to indiana university and capital university but haven’t heard word from the music schools yet

Thank you, 18karat. When you have the music school acceptances, please let us know and we will add them to the list.

Just got accepted to the University of Michigan as a transfer for Violin Performance!

I also have been accepted to the University of Texas - Austin Butler School of Music for Violin Performance, but need to clear general admissions!

D was accepted to Ithaca College of Music for cello performance.

Congratulations gyoun09, and also to celloliz and Daughter.

gyoun09, please let us know when the U Texas admission comes through and we will add that to the list as well.

Congrats to so many of you parents that have run yourselves ragged getting your kids to auditions, etc. I am impressed with all your kids’ hard work and successes. Pat yourselves on the back - all you students and parents.

My son had a different journey than most of your kids, but will be majoring in Audio Engineering at Greenville College (Illinois). He was also accepted into Cal State University Dominguez Hills for Music Technology, and he withdrew his application to Jacobs (was accepted into Indiana) after receiving his offer from Greenville. He received a 10K scholarship from Greenville.

Congratulations to AtomicGirl and Son on the two acceptances and the final decision. Please let me know if he plays an instrument or if he sings so that I can add that information to the list.

Thank You. He was happy to get this process over with…

He plays piano, guitar, dabbles in drums and can sing, a jack of all trades, master of none… his was looking at auditions on piano, if it came to that. He will have to perform in ensembles for 2 years at Greenville to obtain major, I think he’s trying to do that on guitar.

OK, in that case I will list his primary instrument as guitar.

Congratulations to clgreine on acceptances to Catholic University and George Mason University for MM in Vocal Performance, as noted on another thread.
