@Lmw586, it came Saturday, but we live in Orlando so mail doesn’t take all that long from Tallahassee. It was regular letter size and not a large envelope, but 3 pages with additional information, so it should feel a little thicker than a one-page rejection. I wish you or your son/daughter the best of luck!

We live in Apopka, with a daughter already attending fsu, and our son is the one waiting to hear…our mail does seem to take a little longer

Oh - I generally say Orlando for people not familiar with the area. We actually live in Ocoee.

Congratulations to CruiseQueen and daughter, and to pianosoprano.

As we all wait for the April 1st date to arrive with the rest of our children’s acceptances/rejections (ugg), here is where we are at right now:
Accepted: Belmont Music 5000 year academic, waiting on talent award (heard next week)
Wanda Bass OKCU accepted 5000 year academic 13000 year talent

Son accepted to Ithaca College for Composition B.M. with instrumental emphasis in cello. Could pursue actual double major in composition and performance once enrolled.
(The schools each seem to deal with the double major a bit differently.)

Son accepted for compositiion at UNCSA, Lynn University, SUNY Purchase, West Chester University, Berklee. Waiting on the rest!

Way to go cellocompmom and lake4! Congrats to your sons. Lots of choices.

Does the Berklee decision come via e-mail, or actual letter?

Has anyone heard from SUNY Purchase for voice? (I’m new to posting but not to the forum, I suppose I will introduce myself elsewhere!)

My son accepted to FSU College of Music, letter came today!

Ebassmom, My son was accepted at Berklee early decision in December. He had an email first then the identical letter came with the packet about 3 weeks later. One of the boys he plays with a lot is a freshman there already and went through regular spring admission. He said his letter came in the mail after a very long wait.

Anybody else waiting for Thornton?

Congratulations to crazymusicmom and presumed progeny, cellocompmom and son, lake4 and son, and Lmw586 and son.

crazymusicmom, are these acceptances that you are reporting for a son or for a daughter? What instrument or voice is involved? Are both of these performance majors, or something else, and for what degree program (BM, BA, BS, BFA, MM, DMA…)?

lake4, does your son have a primary instrument or does he sing? Please let me know if any of his programs are not for the BM degree.

Lmw586, please let me know the details of the major (Performance, Composition, something else), the instrument or voice and the degree program.

All: please help me out here. Last year I had violadad’s assistance in keeping up with all of your acceptances, but he has not been around to help out this year. It would make things a lot easier for me if you would send me complete entries, particularly in the next few weeks when they start coming in by the dozens. Something like “S accepted by University of Eastern West Virginia at Goose Nest for BM in Performance on Theremin” or “D accepted by Marsovia College for BFA in Composition (primary instrument Alpenhorn) with $32,478 scholarship” would do quite nicely.

Son, Bachelors Music Education, Instrument Trumpet, FSU, scholarship info to follow

Got it. Thanks.

BassDad accepted at the CC World College of Visual Music and Absurdist Arts for a Ph.D. in Keepin’ Us Loose, primary instrument Comedic Examples.

D received her official letters of acceptance for BM performance (trumpet) to:
U of Puget Sound (academic 18K, music 8K)
Lamont at University of Denver (academic 12K, music 10K, residence hall 3K)
UT Austin
CU Boulder
Waiting on scholarship info for last two, plus one more school that hasn’t sent out official acceptance yet

If this was Facebook, KnittingGene’s post would have a hundred “likes” right now!

Daughter, Texas Tech, BM Performance, Double Bass, $10,000.

^Let’s not reduce it to Soup Nazi orders. You are allowed to show some joy. Congrats Kaybaby!
