Master List of Music School Acceptances, Fall 2012

@pianoman12, that is, in fact, a quadruple major. It’s crazy, but if anyone can pull it off, it’s Oberlin! When S was there for a summer program I walked into admissions and laid it out for one of the counselors, and he was like, yeah, sure, we have a few people doing that now. Amazing.

Thanks JPM1. Just the last one to hear from before final decision.

D just received a yes from Oberlin as a Violist seeking a BM in performance. Waiting patiently for NEC. Congrats to everyone!

Congragulations everyone!

Is Oberlin sending desicions out via email or regular mail?

D accepted to Oberlin as a VP major! Exhale! Inhale, wait for scholarship notifications. I’m sure I will pass out before the month is over:)

@bassgirl15 My daughter received an-email late last night with acceptance news and notification on a snail mail on the way. Good Luck!

Great to have more acceptances under Oberlin in BassDad’s compilation! Congrats!

Just received word of a 22,000 a year scholarship from sfcm!

Congratulations to broadwaydaddy and daughter, lkbsmama and daughter, and violinist1314.

I haven’t heard from SFCM regarding scholarship.

Compdad ------- violinist1314 and I know each other hehe. We come from the same studio.

LOS - Check your email. Scholarship email just arrived a minute ago.

Just a word of gratitude to all who have shared their experiences, wisdom, and thoughts on this forum—it has been a lifeline through the music college quest. With the last acceptance in at midnight, and just a few more days to wait on possible scholarships, I just had to log in to say thank you. I think I would have truly gone crazy from March Madness had I not been comforted and tickled by others sharing what we were feeling. Our poor post lady has no idea she was having a near death experience every time she arrived empty handed.

Now our son has an unexpected situation—he auditioned at 8 schools for vocal performance in the hopes of getting into one—he was accepted to all (if you want them for the list that includes Boston U, FSU, Furman, Indiana U, Oberlin Conservatory, U Colorado Boulder, U South Carolina, and Vanderbilt). We’ll be looking here for continued help with the next step as it seems a bit overwhelming.

Again, thank you all for helping us through this music adventure.

Congrats sonwhosings!! Exciting news. Be sure to post when he decides.

And also to the MANY that have received good news the past 2 weeks :)

I still have not received word…ahhh! Do they send them all at the same time?

Othermusic dad, can I ask, did you apply for merit scholarship and how much did you receive?

Yes merit only. It’s actually my d’s MM scholarship. I PM’ed you.

We still have heard absolutely nothig! Any word out there for composition for grad school? We’re dyin here!

Going to Frost as a vocal performance major. After being rejected from almost everywhere, I got into my top choice!

Accepted at Oberlin for BM Viola Performance!

Still no word on scholarship from SFCM :P
